My Notes

This is a beautiful Stuart Warren Cramer designed mill house/bungalow. It is one of the 282 contributing buildings in the North Charlotte Historic District, per the National Register of Historic Places, and is located directly across from Highland Park Manufacturing Company Mill No.3, which is also a Cramer design and is also listed independently on the National Register of Historic Places. The home has a large living room with an in-wall bookcase and A/V shelves, a large master bedroom with His-and-Her closets, a cozy guest bedroom, a galley style kitchen with granite and wood counter tops, a custom tiled bathroom with heated tile floors, heart pine flooring throught the remainder of the home, ten foot ceilings, a new one hundred year metal roof, central heating and air, a shaded 300sqft deck overlooking a privacy fenced backyard, a pavestone area off the deck with an in-ground fire pit, a wired shed with a workbench and a security system covering both indoors and out. Parking estimates are for two sports/compact cars or one four door vehicle. Additional off street parking may be found within a half block both across and down N. Brevard Street.

What I love about the home

This is not a home for a growing family. It is best suited for singles or young couples, but it meets the three most important real estate factors of location, location and location. The home is across the street from the Heist Brewery and the NoDa Animal Hospital. One block from Brook's Sandwich House. Two blocks from the Johnston YMCA. Three blocks from Fifth-Third Bank, Crepe Cellar, Growler's Pourhouse, Amelie's French Bakery (open 24/7), NoDa Market & Deli, the LGBT Community Center of Charlotte. Five blocks from Solstice Tavern, Revolution Ale House, The Evening Muse and the future 25th Street light rail station. Six blocks from Behailu Academy, Boudreaux's Louisiana Kitchen, UpStage, Salud Beer Shop, The Blind Pig, Neighborhood Theatre, The Chop Shop, Smelly Cat Coffee House and the Dog Bar. Seven blocks from Cordelia Park, NoDa Bark and Board, Highland Mill Montessori Elementary School and the future 36th Street/NoDa light rail station, which allows for easy access to amenities from Pineville to Southend to Dilworth to Uptown and on to the University City area (2017), with a quick +1 bus ride to Charlotte Motor Speedway from the end of the light rail. Nine blocks from the future Cullman Avenue Park; half a mile from Villa Heights Elementary, the Historic Rosedale Plantation and the future Charlotte terminal of the East Coast High Speed Rail system, which will link areas between Boston, Buffalo, New York, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Raleigh, Charlotte, Columbia, Atlanta, Savannah and Jacksonville. The artistic atmosphere, pet friendly residents and walkability of the neighborhood simply cannot be overstated.
