Designed to fit the lot, the quality of construction belies the year it was built (1971) - this home was lovingly appointed with exceptional materials we ordinarily see in Old Portland classic homes. Rough cut cedar siding, Anderson windows, cedar doors, oak plank and brick flooring, and maple butcher block counter tops are only part of the picture! The home has been lovingly maintained, especially on the interior. A new Presidential quality architectural grade roof was added in October. The lot is criss-crossed by trails down to the creek and up to the gate to Foege Park, and the natural landscaping makes care easier than many smaller more formally landscaped properties. This home is move-in ready - owners' possessions have been moved, it is ready for its new owners!
Neighborhood Description
This neighborhood is a well-kept secret - secluded in the trees, and terminating at the bottom of the street, it is, nonetheless, convenient to shopping (Peterkort), schools, and commute routes.
The neighbors are kind and considerate, and check in on one another. This is a mature neighborhood, with older quality homes on large lots and with newer homes on smaller lots. It is not unusual to see neighbors walking up and down the street, as it is a wonderful low-traffic area - ideal for pedestrians.
The neighborhood is buffered from 112th Ave/Cedar Hills Blvd to the East by Foege Park - a pedestrian park connected to the Tualitan Hills Parks and Rec network of walking trails.
 

What I love about the home

1. The awesome location - although in a seemingly secluded forested location, this home is within an easy distance of schools, shopping, and commute routes - it is buffered from 112th Ave/Cedar Hills Blvd by Foege Park, a pedestrian park connected to the Tualatin Hills Parks and Rec walking trails network - it is actually within walking distance of St. Vincent's Hospital! 2. The lodge-like ambiance - the family room overlooks the verdant lot, and is warmed by a wall-length brick fireplace, hearth, and wood nook. 3. The large, efficient kitchen. An abundance of counter-space and storage (including a walk-in pantry and a large dish cupboard!) makes the kitchen a real treat for anyone who loves to cook. 4. The shop/storage area, downstairs - for an owner who likes tinkering in the shop, there is a large room, already equipped with a workbench and lots of overhead beams to hang tools from! 5. The extra large garage. 6. The fourth bedroom/sewing and laundry room - lots of space to spread out large sewing projects!
