Great starter apartment or pied-a-terre. Sunny, quiet studio with a long, elegant entry foyer, ample storage and hardwood floors. Fantastic midtown location close to Grand Central, the UN, and lots of restaurants and shopping. Very well-managed building with an excellent laundry room and a lovely roof deck with views of the Chrysler Building and the United Nations.. The Sands was built in 1960 and converted to a co-op in 1984. The building has two elevators, laundry room and private storage. There is a part-time doorman from 4pm - midnight. Parental purchasing and guarantors are permitted. Cats okay, but no dogs. There is an $117.55 assessment until March 2014 to upgrade the lobby, mailboxes, planters and help replenish the reserve fund.
