Neighborhood Description
We are a short 15 minute drive from the beach. Lots of sunshine. We see the ocean EVERY day, as many of the stores and restaurants you go to are on a road that runs next to the ocean.
Encinitas is a very quaint village, with really interesting funky beach shops, lots of shopping, restaurants, sidewalk cafes and people watching. It's a beach town that is really hopping all year round. Close to Del Mar, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Cardif-by-the-Sea, Leucadia and Downtown San Diego - Museums, Galleries, Golfing, Biking, Surfing, Boating, (Mission Bay, Old Town (great Mexican Food), Pacific Beach and San Clemete are just a half hour away).
This area is THE PLACE where people come to vacation. It is 45 minutes from Mexico, 2 hours from Los Angeles all by car. We are also 45 minutes from Temecula with Vineyards and 'tasting rooms' and Jazz/Dinner opportunities. Ophellia Vineyards, an award wining winery, is only 15 minutes from the house.
Several Local Outdoor Farmers Markets with fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers. Wine Tastings, Fine, Casual and Fun Dining, Shopping. Mountain Trails, Golf, Jogging, Walking, Hand gliding, Roller Blading, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Wind Surfing, Kite Flying, Tennis, Skiing.
Del Mar Race Track and Fair Grounds - Many Events throught the year including the San Diego County Fair.
Other attractions within a short drive include LegoLand, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Downtown San Diego,
Seaport Village, the Convention Center, The San Diego International Airport, and Gaslamp Quarter. About an hour away is Laguna Beach with
fabulous dining and shopping, South Coast Plaza with incredible discounts on designer clothing, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, the Queen Mary.

What I love about the home

A beautiful contry estate with rolling hills fulfilling childhood dreams. It is a large gated estate situated on 2 1/2 acres with horse and hiking trails alongside our private street (we own the road) with a huge private pool and jacuzzi spa (seats 8) both with spectacular optical night lighting, large patio, orchard, growing fields, grounds, etc. The residence is spacious, bright and airy. Inside there are many amenities such as a marble entryway, wine closet, gourmet kitchen, (many celebrity cheffs love to cook here), 12 foot celings, crown molding, central air-conditioning, wireless internet, etc. Grand in every way. Luscious landscaped entry, 45 tree Lemon Orange Orchard, Avocados, Macadamia Nut and Plum trees Roses, 4 waist high raised vegetable and herb garden flats, to simply pick fresh as you cook. A long Cobblestone Driveway, Marble entry way, Gourmet Kitchen (6 burner Stove, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, SubZero refridgerator/freezer, 2nd Pantry with refridgerator/freezer for entertaining, Center Island with sink and compactor, Food Warmer, high ceilings, light and bright family room (off kitchen), wood burning fireplaces. A Dining room that easily accomodates 6 - 12. Master Bedroom Suite containg a romatic gas fireplace, marble bathroom with 2 sinks, 2 toilets, 2 Person Shower (2 shower heads), jetted jacuzzi, whirlpool bath tub, crown molding, high ceilings and a private entrance to pool. 3 upstairs bedrooms plus the sleeping loft, (a wonderfully warm open room with a balcony overlooking the family room and views of the countryside). Horseback Riding/Hiking trails passing in front of the estate. Ranches and Stables in walking distance. Old Historical Olivenhain Meeting Hall built in 1885 is quaint and has many fun events throughout the year Most fun of all is the estate's bunny rabbits, hummingbirds and butterflies.
