Two story front with great street appeal has views of downtown, sound and views from Mt. Baker to Mt Rainer with large three-sided walk-out basement. The well thought out design was years in the making, so all ideas and flow were fully vetted. The remodel was taken from studs out on exisiting footprint and was doubled in square footage with addition as well as our family. To see pix go to http://3258thirtyseventh.com. Our home is large: Basement is 1,529 square feet and partially finished with two sets of French Doors to professional landscaped yard. The main floor is 1,477 square feet and the upper floor is 1,532 square feet. The design was a light, spacious floor plan with lux amenties and materials throughout. The custom Millwork was executed by a master carpenter, who specializes in historical remodels in VA and his work was featured in Coastal Living, November 2007 10th Anniversary Design house-http://search.coastalliving.com/cx-results.html?Ntt=november+2007+idea+house. Main floor has travertine entry, the rest of main floor has wide plank cherry floors, an open, large kitchen has cherry cabinets and granite tops with two counter/bar/islands seperating the 16 x33 Great/dining room with views, custom mantle, wired home theater (one of two). Kitchen has two seperate areas for breakfast, dinner and entertaining large groups with a double door pantry and gas ready. All 3 baths are full and have programmable radiant floors that are tile or slate, Master on upper has unobstructed views of downtown, sound and Rainer. Master suite has two sided fireplace, tub height for enjoying the jet/air tub while enjoing Rainer or city on one side fireplace on the other. The Grohe heads in the shower and the huge rain head is an amazing way to start and end the day. Master bed room has seperate walk-in closets (his and hers) plus additional large closet. Three additional nice sized bedrooms accompany master on the top floor. All with views of either city or Rainer and large closets. The bathroom for these bedrooms have seperate doors to each fixture for max efficiencies in the AM. Upper floor has laundry room with views of Rainer and southern exposure-great light throughout.
Basement is partially finished and has tremendous potential for a full on MIL plus rec room and full bath with tons of area for storage in our design. Rec room (16X33) in basement has great light and double french doors to multi-level backyard with mature fruit trees, herbs, and a high producing grape vine. For the kids there is the playhouse and swingset for hours of fun!
Neighborhood Description
Few fully remodeled homes in the area, but incredible views from most neighbors home. Neighbors are friendly and watch out for each other, many have multiple children and the area is safe and clean, good elementary school with strong PTA, numerous daycare and private schools near, YMCA and other exercise services near, convenient to grocery stores from PCC to two Safeway's to Metro. Market and aWholeFoods is coming soon, numerous coffee shops Freshy's rocks! excellent parks and adult amentities like resturants and bars(Proust is the newest addition-authentic German pub) is 6 blocks away. The areas of West Seattle Junction and quick access to Alki via Fairmount Ave with boat launch right there are at omfortable distance.
 

What I love about the home

Views, views views or is it the location location location? The view always has action day or night. Excellent craftsmanship and choice of materials is impressive. Being perched above city and getting a traffic report for WS Bridge, I-5 and 99 just by glancing out the bath window while you get ready for your day. Sunrises over Cascades, Sunset reflection off downtown buildings are all inspiring. We love the covered porches and decks positioned for views and summer breezes. The natural light from windows and the skylight position at top of the upstairs was worth the efforts. Most folks comment on the natural lighting even on NW rain days, but most love the large bedrooms and closets. The lay-out/design is well thoughtout from any entry, regardless of door used to the laundry on upper where bedrooms (4) are and additional cabling ans chaseways for future upgrades make this a complete package. The Master suite is a must experience and great way to begin and end your day.
