My Notes

Welcome to 36 River Rd. a 289 year old colonial "salt box" that was blt by Jonathan Clement, the home as it appears today was completed in 1734. With it's southerly exposure overlooks the Merrimack River. Through the front dr, you enter the hallway from which a cptn's stairway leads to the 2nd flr. On the first flr the lvng rm fireplace is surrounded by Judges paneling to the ceiling, while wide wainscoting and a built in corner cupboard decorate the other walls. The present dining room features a lrg fireplace. Wainscoting and exposed summer beam, raised 4-panel drs with thumb latches, and wide pine board flrs are other features. The spacious kitchen is located towards the back of the 1st flr and incorporates the original borning room. Also included on the 1st flr is an office space and bath. The upstairs bdrms, master with fireplace, reveal gunstock corner posts and pine board flooring. Step outside off the kitchen onto the english garden and watch the boats pass by.

What I love about the home

Brick patio to view the River and boats as they move toward the ocean! The elegance and charm of this home is a must see! A step into another century.
