My Notes

Edit
This iconic, award winning house was designed to feel like a converted Bucks County barn, with extensive stone work and barn board style beams and trim as well as an open floor plan with 30 foot dining room in the center of the house. It was designed by prominent architect Frank Schlesinger for his own residence. Schlesinger had been a student of renowned architect Louis Kahn, and Mr. Kahn's influence can be seen in the clean lines, open floor plan and use of natural materials. The home ingeniously uses light from windows in a center cupola to flood the house with light while offering privacy in a Borough setting. The home features extensive use of stone outside and in and the interior features maple and slate floors throughout, mahogany walls and teak ceilings in some rooms. The living room is graced with a majestic stone fireplace that covers most of one wall. The American Institute of Architecture awarded this home with its (national) "House of the Year Award" in 1961 for its unique design accomplishing both light and privacy and extensive use of natural materials. This home was featured in the June 4, 1965 edition of Life magazine as a "Private Place" This home sits proudly on the corner of Court and Washington Streets. Your buyers will be proud to call this magnificent residence home.  More Less
