What I love about the home
Off the kitchen sits the home?s two original bedrooms and full bath. Each of the sunny bedrooms has a original oak floors, original light fixtures and generous closets (another rarity in a home this age). The hallway has a built-in linen closet and cute little wall niche. The bathroom, located between the bedrooms, has small, period-style, blue and white hexagon floor tiles and clean, white tiles from HYPERLINK "http://www.prattandlarson.com/" Pratt & Larson in the bath surround. The modern sink sits atop an antique dresser turned vanity. Wall niches in the bathroom are examples of how the homeowners utilized every bit of existing space in the home to create as much functionality as possible. Originally built as a one-story Craftsman house, the homeowners expertly renovated the second floor attic into a large master suite adding 350 sq. ft of livable space to the home. Staying true to the period of the home, the master suite keeps the slanting roof lines and original wide-plank Douglas fir floor. Built-in book shelves that open to reveal large storage areas are a fun touch to the space, as are the one-of-a-kind, built-in dressers that feature 4-foot pull-out drawers! The basement also has a huge laundry/utility room with more than enough space for a family?s storage needs. More room in this area was recently created when the ?octopus? furnace was removed and a new, energy-efficient furnace was installed. The basement is also where you gain access to the tandem garage and shop. An unusual feature in the neighborhood, the enclosed, attached garage is a bonus for the home. The backyard is an inviting space that has a large brick patio, bamboo hedge for privacy, a custom potting bench. The small, mixed-use building in the yard is ready for electricity hook-ups and would be a perfect place to create an artist?s studio or gardening shed.- CoolingUnknown
