The William Virts House, also known as the Uriah Beans House, is a historic site including a dwelling house, dwelling house addition, spring house and frame shed on a stone foundation that is located about three and one half miles away from the Historic Village of Waterford (1733), Loudoun County, Virginia. A 2 ½-story, three bay, Federal Period stone house that took this form around 1813 and has a side gable roof and sits on a banked basement built around 1798. Situated on 3 beautifully, landscaped acres with a total of eight rooms and three full bathrooms, finished attic space, basement and root cellar. Additionally, the three acre property includes the contributing 1 ½-story vernacular stone spring house, built around 1813, as well as a frame shed on a stone foundation built around 1840. Additional features include: A Masonry fieldstone Main House with six rooms, root cellar, flights of stairs and an attic under a galvanized metal roof. A below grade subterranean vaulted root cellar, a so called common room with a cooking chimney fireplace and brick/tile floor (kitchen/dining room); on the second level, a so called hall and parlor with a chimney fireplace, built-in china cabinet/closet (living room and family room; on the third level, two bedrooms each has a closet, and a full bathroom. The fourth level, ( a/k/a attic) is finished and has a closet and dormer windows (optional bedroom space). Early random width flooring completes this lovely restored home. Step out of the living room via a Granite half-millstone to the lovely backyard or on the south side to the covered porch with steps to a lower level porch. Raised panel heavy duty solid cedar wood Williamsburg shutters, complete set solid wood windows (replaced in 2012), and also recently added/replaced: Dishwasher, Refrigerator by Samsung and Gas Range by Samsung: washer and dryer set by Whirlpool; bathroom fixtures and track lighting. Nicely situated on 3 acres. Immaculately landscaped, a creek , a masonry field stone springhouse under a galvanized metal roof, a frame shed on stone foundation also under a galvanized metal roof. The Federal-Style addition to the main house, with wraparound authentic handmade bricks, a laid concrete foundation and copper roof and gutters, was completed in 1999 and adds approximately 1288 feet of living space. This addition boasts random-width milled heartwood southern yellow pine flooring and shoe molding. A bedroom with attached dressing room, two full bathrooms, a partially finished attic with wood floor provides extra space for dry storage. An unfinished basement contains assorted utilities and has ample room for storage. In 2012 the home was wired for high speed internet service and is currently using Comcast. In 2013 the septic field line was upgraded.  More Less
