My Notes

Edit
This 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom townhome with its own elevator and gourmet, eat-in kitchen is perfection. The home really has four levels - all that offer comfort and beauty.
You can enter the home from the garage or by walking up a few steps to enter on the main level. It really doesn't matter which entrance you pick! All levels are beautiful! The lower level is an open recreation area with a wood-burning fireplace, recessed area that's perfect for an office set-up and windows bringing in plenty of light. The laundry room is also on this level. A beautifully re-done bath, with a marble heated floor and gorgeous glass door and top-of-the-line fixtures, is also on this level. FInally, there is a large closet on this level as well as a smaller closet.
The foyer, which has a stunning granite floor, and nice coat closet, leads up to the main level. The main level houses the glamorous kitchen, complete with three ovens, a professional-grade stove, a two-drawer dishwasher, gorgeous and ample cherry cupboards and spectacular and quite dramatic rheostatt lighting. Just next to the kitchen is a small but lovely single bath powder room. Across from that powder room is a pantry. We purchased it thinking we were going to move there permanently. Our plans have since changed but we gutted the entire property, replacing everything except the marble floor in the basement. We installed all new top-of-the-line appliances, solid-core doors, a new roof, hardwood floors, a new staircase, redesigned the master suite, new bathroom fixtures. In fact, you name it and we replaced it - even down to the vent covers for the heating and cooling system.

What I love about the home

This home is only steps away from the absolutely spectacular National Forest with its breathtaking walking trails and Glover Park. You are a five-minute walk from Georgetown University and Georgetown Hospital, a ten-minute walk from Georgetown. And you are only a short distance from downtown D.C. Yet, when you are home here, you won't know it. All you will feel is relaxed. You are surrounded by trees, black squirrels and plenty of privacy. The home is elegant and comfortable at the same time. All rooms are beautiful - but we'd be less than honest if we didn't tell you that the kitchen is simply to die for with three ovens, a professional quality stove and a two-drawer dishwasher. And the master bath? You really should just come and see for yourself. We warn you, the shower is awfully inviting with its dramatic marble and glass design. In fact, once home, you may never want to leave the master suite. And if the rest of the house weren't so spectacular, you probably wouldn't need to. This master suite has it all - a separate toilet room, an office area, beautiful windows, a lovely closet/dressing area and even a fold-down ironing board.

Market guide

Zillow predicts Burleith home values will increase 1% next year, compared to a 2.5% increase for Washington as a whole. Among Burleith homes, this home is valued 56.5% more than the midpoint (median) home, but is valued 16.9% less per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Burleith, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 55.4% less than in Washington, and 64.9% lower than the national average. This lower local number could help Burleith home values rise more quickly than other regions in Washington.
