Neighborhood Description
Magnolia is a quiet seaside village. It has its own Post Office, restaurants, shops and places of interest such as Hammond Castle, Coolidge Reservation, Ravenswood Park, and Raef's Chasm. There is a sandy beach, as well as rocky caostline. Magnolia is a peninsula so you can see the sunrise and the sunset on the ocean. In the summertime, Magnolia is always cooler than nearby cities/towns due to the seabreeze. Magnolia is only 5 miles from Route 128 and is even closer to Gloucester and Manchester-by-the Sea where we shop for groceries, catch the train, use the bank, public library, pharmacy and visit other beaches. I wouldn't want to live any place else. In fact, when we decided it was time for us to downsize, we only looked in Magnolia!
 
What I love about the home
We love living so close to the ocean without it costing us a million dollars. The house is full of sunlight and unique details that add to its charm--marble raised hearth, Imported Italian tile, Corian kitchen countertop, marble countertop in Master bath, radial heat in Great room, heated tile floor in Master bath. Our sons spent most of their time in the large family room playing pool, ping pong, darts, using the exercise equipment, watching TV and going online. The attic has the potential to be another large room with an unobstructed ocean view year round, but we just didn't need any more living space! In fact, the only reason we are moving is that the time has come for us to downsize.
