Beautiful history! The famous Gustavus Hinrichs home, circa 1899, perfectly and respectfully reborn circa 2006 with full 21st century amenities. Warm, natural woodwork throughout evokes the precision craftsmanship of another era. Tax abated! From the minute you walk in the original crafted front door, the flow just ?feels right?. Sweeping, richly-grained wood floor just refinished again in 2009. Seating group area to the left with ample room beyond for elegant dining setup, with unique double side doors that open directly to the oversize side yard, for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Plenty of room for another casual dining table, with a large 8 foot island, sink and dishwasher. Efficient galley design, with cherry cabinetry, granite countertops, range and refrigerator. Guest half bath convenient to kitchen and dining. All appliances 2006 or newer.

Walk the richly paneled stair up to the third floor, converted to a full master suite, with large bedroom, open sitting area, and huge tiled master bath with walk-in closet, jet tub and walk-in shower. 2nd and 3rd floors have original hardwood flooring. And don't miss the magnificent view from the 3rd floor! This is one of the highest homes in Shaw, and you have a sweeping view over the neighborhood to the St. Louis skyline.
Other details include central vacuum throughout the house, CAT5 media wiring, alarm, high efficiency heating and cooling, whole house humidifier, intercom, and instant hot water (recirculating) system. What I love about the home

The current owners know what a special home they have, and are truly torn about leaving it behind, in their own words: "We are having to relocate and are very sad to leave this house. We are going to really miss this wonderfully renovated old home, the BBQs on the side patio beneath the large hardwood maple trees, crossing the street for evening beers and wine at the Thurman Grill, or up to Sasha's On Shaw, the short walks to Tower Grove Park (and its farmers market) and the Botanical Gardens, and all the festivals and art shows that the Park, Gardens, and this neighborhood have to offer. We've had an amazing time here and will take with us some truly wonderful memories."
