My Notes

Why buy a fixer-upper when you can buy a house where the work is already done? This is a lovely cape-bungalow with a completely renovated upstairs, including a new roof, custom glass and tile shower, and a unique granite-topped vanity. Located in desirable Riverdale neighborhood, just a short walk to the local elementary school. Close to the conveniences of Legacy Place but without the frustration of getting to it. Lovely, untouched crown molding and fireplace mantle. Beautiful wood floors. Gorgeous new upstairs bathroom with walk-in shower and custom vanity. Huge double lot with ancient giant oak trees to provide shade and keep the house and yard cool in the summer, while full insulation keeps it warm in the winter. Pretty and useful built-ins, large closets, and tons of storage space. Dry basement never floods and has a large work bench. Warm kitchen and dining room for friendly gatherings and a working fireplace for cozy nights. There are cheaper homes in Dedham, but none that are a better value for a house with so much that is so nice.
Neighborhood Description
Quiet, tree-lined neighborhood. Friendly and helpful neighbors we wish we could take with us. Easy walk to playgrounds, parks, the river, and an ice cream stand at the end of the street. Just a stone's throw from popular Dedham restaurants and shopping, and just over the river from the Boston line and hip West Roxbury. A few-minute's drive from 128 and charming Needham, Westwood, and Newton. Indeed, this is a neighborhood as nice as Needham, as close to Boston as West Rox, but at a Dedham price. This is a neighborhood to live your life.

What I love about the home

Did we mention the double lot? Very hard to come by in neighborhoods this close to the city, and gives about five-times the yard space as similar homes in the neighborhood. Perfect for kids, dogs, or gardeners. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and very convenient to stores, restaurants, Boston, and the highway. We fell in love with the front porch, fireplace, and amazing period details. This is how houses used to be made; with care and love, and you couldn't build it today for less than our price.
