Beautiful, Praire style duplex, could be modified easily to be a single family home. 2 separate entrances for upstairs apt...identical in layout to first floor. Updated electrical and plumbing. Basement has sizable workshop and recently remodeled exercise/rec room, along with 3/4 bath. Tons of storage in basement (3 walk-in closets), plus garden shed and 2 car garage with loft storage for wood, etc. A short 2 block walk to Lake Nakomis and additional off-street parking spaces behind house. Hardwood floors throughout, and original mint condition porcelain tile in baths. In complete shade in the summer and lots of cross ventilation, plus ceiling fans through-out both floors. First floor apt. owner occupied with recent painting throughout, remodeled kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances (negotiable).
Neighborhood Description
Very tight, friendly neighborhood. Very active watch and mostly professional. 2 blocks from the Parkway, Hiawatha golf course, and Lake Nakomis...100 steps from Two sisters coffee shop and 4 blocks from Parkway theatre, Pepitos and Turtle Bread Company...centrally located to downtown Minneapolis, Mall of America, 494, 35Ws. Never more than 30 minutes from most Twin city suburbs.
 

What I love about the home

This home is the only duplex in the immediate neighborhood. Very active neighborhood watch and association. Street lights located directly in front of house and behind add extra security. Stays very warm in the winter with comforting radiator heat. Separate utilities for each unit, completely paid by each occupant. Water/Trash is only thing landlord pays. Beautifully large landscaped yard...many years in the making, and I get to enjoy the fruits of that perennial garden. Very well maintained with 9 ft ceilings, 12" hardwood moldings and BEAUTIFUL built-ins in the formal dining room (2 corner and one small bookshelf). This house is a gem, and is perfect for that home owner that wants to live a "pottery barn" lifestyle, but have a tenant to help cover the expenses. Previous owners were "snowbirds" that had the assurance of someone (tenant) being on-site to watch over things. This is a gem, and could only be sold to the right buyer at the right price...is that you?
