Neighborhood Description
Our community is forested with older trees around the houses, ravines and streams. Single lane asphalt roads without curbs or sidewalks add to our country living atmosphere, with the homes with a wide spectrum of architecture priced from $400,000 to over $1,400,000. Residents enjoy walking, jogging and bike riding 1.5 miles around Honey Lake. With a purchased membership fee some have canoes or row boats on the lake for fishing & recreation. Beside deer and occasional raccoons, there is a special thrill to see a cycote or red fox once a year. Eton Park has a small playground and a baseball diamond and soccer field. It is used for community picnics and concerts for those who want to attend. We are 5 away from state routes 12, 22, and 59. Travels times are: 40 minutes to O'Hare International Airport, 15 min. to Deer Park up-scale shopping complex, and about 1 hr. 20 minutes from the heart of Chicago and the lake shore and museums, etc. Good Shepherd Hospital is less than 10 minutes away. North Barrington was rated the best of all the Barrington communities a few years back. Our location gives us the best of all worlds. The Biltmore Country Club & Golf Course anchors the west side of our community.

What I love about the home

The family room has an angled fireplace that nicely faces the opposite corner of the room, giving it a cozy homey feeling when a fire is burning in the winter time and holidays. Grilling on paver patio during the summer enhances enjoying our secluded back yard, lawn, flower beds, and small vegetable garden producing its bounty in the side yard. The coming and goings of a variety of birds at our feeders is beautiful. Occasional visits of different wildlife provide entertainment many people never experience. We never tire waiting for the arrival date of the Spring?s first humming bird, or a doe with her single or twin fawns showing off their youthful antics of a new born. Sleeping with fresh air coming in the windows is novel. And occasionally hearing an owl hoot or a distant coyote howl adds nature?s dimension to a nights sleep. It all makes Chicago seem so far away!
