My Notes

Cozy, warm studio home in the best Tudor City Building. Recent renovations include new closets, sanding and scraping of all doors, new baseboard moulding, just painted within the last 6 months. Even better, thru the wall heating and air conditioning unit enhances your high floor (20 floors above street level) southeastern views of the City as well as comfortable heating and air conditioning. Brand new double pane skyline windows will allow you to shut out the noise of the City when you are ready to relax. The kitchen and bathroom can use some TLC. There are four closets, entrance closet, 2nd single closet and two double closets where the original two single murphy beds were. The wall where the Queen size bed is currently is suitable to be converted to a Murphy Bed.

What I love about the home

This is a great neighborhood. Quiet and friendly, yet just a couple of blocks from Grand Central. There are really very few residential areas in New York City which are on a Cul De Sac which limits both pedestrian and car traffic. Tudor City is a historic area and the two beautiful parks enhance the charm of a place which money magazine voted as one of the best neighborhoods in an urban city in the country. There are excellent shops right on the ground floor of this building, a pet store, flower school, cafe, laundry, bike shop, nail shop and hair salon, as well as a self service post office. You cannot get much more convenient than that. The building staff is beyond excellent, they are very proactive in making sure that the tenants are both safe and the apartments are well maintained. There are more than 10 doormen on rotation which provides 24hour security for the building. There is a huge laundry room in the basement, if you are not interested in using the dry cleaners located right outside the lobby. There is also a state of the art gym. The renovation to replace the original tudor city windows with modern double pane super quiet windows was a long process, but well worth it. Not only do these windows look gorgeous, they also do a spectacular job of eliminating most if not all of the traffic din that comes from first avenue and the FDR drive. The thru the wall ac/heating unit lets you have great views of the City from both windows. There is just no comparison between an apartment with the original windows to one which has the new ones, the appearance of the windows, their efficiency in blocking out noise and the view of the City will let you feel like you are in a very comfortable and serene environment.
