My Notes

Edit
The Portsmouth was built in 1882 by renowned architect Ralph S. Townsend. Designed in the Queen Anne style that was popular in America during the late nineteenth century, this building is a true reflection of that design. In 1973 The Portsmouth was converted into a Co-op. This one bedroom one bath is the quintessential New York City experience. Having two wood burning fireplaces with marble mantles, soaring 13' ceilings, gorgeous hard wood flooring, original wood doors and large picturesque windows are what makes this home a gem. Mixing mosaic styled back splashes, custom wood countertops, copper sink, SUBZERO fridge with double freezer drawers, Bosch dishwasher and a BIG CHILL stove creates a classic kitchen that is complimented by an original brick wall. The family/dining area off the open kitchen enriches the relaxed feel of this apartment. The large living room is accentuated by South and East Exposures, as well as the stunning marble mantle wood burning fireplace. This is a room designed to entertain. As you proceed to the master bedroom you'll find double West and South exposures, its own wood burning fireplace, custom built closet and beautiful wood bookcases. The windowed bathroom has been fully renovated displaying a mixing of textures; marble counter top, dark wood vanity, colored tile flooring and glass tiling. 50 West 9th Street is considered one of the great blocks of the Central Village  More Less
