Neighborhood Description
Most amazing neighborhood -- across from the National Mall (can't live any closer), all the parades originate a block away, countless restaurants within a 10 block radius, Smithsonian and other museums and galleries also within the downtown area known as Penn Quarter (includes Federal Triangle, the Gallery District, and "Downtown DC"). Everything happens here -- no separate trip to make -- it's right outside! The Navy Band plays 1 block away, jazz every Friday evening across the street at the National Archives garden during the summer, major television broadcasts of special events take place on the Mall 2 blocks away, etc, etc, etc. And it can be seen from the fantastic rooftop terrace -- views in all directions: US Capitol, Washington Monument, Smithsonian Castle, Federal Triangle stately structures, even the Washington National Cathedral. Go out, walk around, visit any number of special exhibits (usually free), enjoy a good meal, shop or take in a gallery, and return home for wine on the roof terrace or on your own covered balcony (both with a view of the Capitol lit up at night). No car or even subway ride is needed. However, Zipcar is just 2 blocks away and Capital Bikeshare is at each Metro station -- just 1 block away. Verizon Center is just 3 blocks north -- home to major sports & entertainment venues. This neighborhood is clean, regal, safe and central to all major events in the Nation's Capitol. What I love about the home

Everything is just out the front door: monuments, national events, galleries, restaurants, museums, major entertainment/sporting events, Metro, and national attractions.
