My Notes

The elevator opens directly into the entry gallery of apartment 3D. Inside are all of the modern amenities you expect plus two full baths, living room, two rooms to sleep, three A/C zones, and a south facing terrace with exceptional light. All finishes are modern and updated with beautiful bathrooms and a kitchen fit for a chef, complete with Bosch and GE Profile stainless steel appliances. This home has 5 closets as well as a private storage room with enough space for bikes and other items. Built in 2008, the condominium has been owner occupied from the start. You will be the second resident. The area surrounding the apartment is vastly changing, but the character of the old neighborhood remains intact to its Gilded Age origins with grand single-family brownstones and small shops and factories. A hundred plus years later, much of the 1890s neighborhood remains intact between the new condominium, retail, and transportation developments. This may be one of the city's smallest neighborhoods, but almost no neighborhood in New York can claim as much investment into its recent transformation with the Atlantic Rail Yards mega development at the tip of the neighborhood. At that site, new retail, office, residential, and community facilities are under construction and already completed, including the new Barclay's Arena with concerts, events, and Brooklyn's very own professional basketball team a few blocks away. The property is located in the Prospect Heigh.ts neighborhood of Brooklyn. The site is surrounded by mid-rise, single and multi-family residential developments. This brownstone neighborhood is located on the northern edge of Prospect Park and bordered by Eastern Parkway to the South, Flatbush Avenue to the West, Atlantic Avenue to the North, and Franklyn Avenue to the East. Prospect Heights is home to many of Brooklyn's treasures such as, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, the Brooklyn Public Library, and Grand Army Pla  More Less

Market guide

Zillow predicts Prospect Heights home values will rise 8.8% next year, compared to a 2% increase for New York as a whole. Among Prospect Heights homes, this home is valued 7% more than the midpoint (median) home, and is valued 26.7% more per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Prospect Heights, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 50% less than in New York, and 96.2% lower than the national average. This lower local number could help Prospect Heights home values rise more quickly than other regions in New York.
