I simply cannot say enough good things about this neighborhood. There is an (optional) neighborhood association for which we pay $15/year. The annual dues cover activities like our annual 4th of July parade and cookout, Santa Claus visits on the fire engine, Christmas caroling, neighborhood luminaries, etc. Very, very friendly neighborhood. The type of place where everyone is out walking or playing in their yards at night.
