Two story home on almost half an acre, totally fenced in, in Sinking Spring. Two original rooms (circa 1795) are solid, original log. Living room is original log. New carpet. Large family room with "walk in" fireplace with wood burning insert stove. This room is also original log with wood beams and wide plank wood flooring. Large dining room with wood floors and wooden beams. Kitchen is a decent size, has a double sink and has room enough for a table for two, or for a breakfast bar with four stools.
Three bedrooms upstairs and also a bonus sewing/computer room. Walk upstairs to an unfinished attic that offers a lot of storage space.
Basement is large, unfinshed, has access from inside and also Bilco doors leading out to the side yard.
One full bath on first floor. New vanity and "bowl" sink in bathroom.
Ceiling fan in Master bedroom and two celing fans in Living room.
All windows are tilt in replacements.
13x9 workshop/storage shed with separate electric and wall unit air conditioner. Insulated with full size door and two full size windows, then a double door on the side for a riding tractor or just as another, larger entrance.
Privacy fenced on three sides, then split rail on both sides of the house in the front.

Neighborhood Description
Quaint area. Have the country feel without actually being in the country. Can be at Berkshire Mall in minutes. Target & WalMart in under 10-15 minutes. Also Reading Hospital is no more than a 15-20 minute ride. If you like antiques--head the opposite direction and spend the day in Adamstown (Lancaster County) Also, about a 15 minute ride!
 

What I love about the home

We've been here nine years and love it. Since this is rumored to be an original toll house from Berks to Lancaster County, it is quite close to the road. We rarely use the front door, but the three other doors leading outside are all totally protected by the fenced yard. This is not a drive by. It doesn't appear to be the cozy log home it is until you step inside!
