My Notes

Edit
This large two-story colonial was designed, built and maintained by its original owners. It boasts of 4 bedrooms, and 2 bonus rooms in the 3000 sq.ft. main part of the house. It also offers 2 legal income apartments (550 and 650 sq.ft.) located in the lower level basement with a private separate entrance that greatly offsets the mortgage payment and provides tax deductions. Why live in a development? Wildlife abounds on this 5-acre country parcel on Jameson Hill Road, Clinton Corners, NY (Dutchess County). Located just a mile off the Taconic State Parkway and the Salt Point Turnpike, it is a quick commute to Westchester, NYC, or Albany. This area is the home for many who desire the serene and peaceful atmosphere away from the bustle of city living. Trains south into NYC can be met at the nearby Poughkeepsie train station. Located in the Millbrook School District, homeowners can choose between this desirable small school district or area private schools such as Dutchess Day or Millbrook Prep School. The Upton Lake Christian School is located within a few minutes. The home is situated at the rear of the parcel, 600 feet off a country road, and makes for a peaceful haven. It has a southwest exposure to capture all the cooler month's sun through the large front windows. Deer, turkey, fox as well as other wildlife can be seen as you look out across the large yards. Mature trees and beautiful landscaping adorn the property as well as 3 raised-bed vegetable gardens. This property backs up to a large area of land that will never be developed, so it will give you loads of privacy to the rear. Neighbors' homes to the left and right are far enough away to not be seen. We have enjoyed shooting skeet, archery, camping out, and chipping golf balls over the years. Activities nearby include: skiing, golfing, boating on the Hudson River, fishing, country roads for biking or walking. The home is perfect for families who love to entertain. You are welcomed through the front door into the center hall foyer with a freestanding staircase leading to the second floor. The house was designed around this large space. Step left from the foyer into the 15x30 great room, complete with a lovely decorative wood burning stove which keeps the whole home cozy From the great room, step out either set of sliding glass doors onto a roomy 15x34 deck and enjoy the outdoors - BBQ, entertain, sunbath. At the end of the deck is an above-ground 15x30 pool - which is always a pleasure to have during those hot summer months. The large kitchen serviced by a back foyer. In front of the kitchen is a generous dining/living room with large windows overlooking the front yard. The 1st floor also offers 2 bonus rooms, a bathroom with a handicap-accessible shower, and a laundry area. As you go up the staircase, 3 skylights flood the upper hall and both of the 2nd floor bathrooms with plenty of natural light. The large master suite is 1/3 of the 2nd floor area. Step out of the master bedroom and watch the sunset from the private 2nd floor balcony. There are 3 other roomy bedrooms with large closets, and in the hall a linen closet  and a large walk-in hall closet. There is additional storage in 2 attics - above the garage and above the 2nd floor. Both are accessed via pull-down stair sets. Main House:- Living/Great Room  15x30- Dining/Living Room  12x15- Front entry foyer  12x23- Kitchen (eat in)  13x19- Bonus room-1  9x12- Bonus room-2  7x11- 1st floor bathroom- Back foyer/laundry- Master Bedroom Suite 15x23 with full bath- Bedroom-2 12x15- Bedroom-3 13x15- Bedroom-4 9x12- Full bathroom off upper hall- Linen and walk-in closets- 2 attics The attached 2-car 18x23 garage has an oversized 17w x 8h door and door opener. Market guide

Zillow predicts Poughkeepsie Metro home values will rise 2.6% next year. Among 12514 homes, this home is valued 113.4% more than the midpoint (median) home, but is valued 14.2% less per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In 12514, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 20.3% less than in Washington, and 67.7% lower than the national average. This lower local number could help 12514 home values rise more quickly than other regions in Washington.
