What I love about the home

Before I even walk in the door, I am home and at peace. This is a place of such serenity with soothing views. How will I ever get used to NOT being high in the trees without a neighbor in sight? Here the world goes away. What a home for someone who is stressed, calming to high energy people and to teenagers! The room I love most is the kitchen. It just speaks to me. For one, there is a full-sized gas range, along with a separate built-in oven! The granite counters are fabulous, and the humongous island is especially nice, designed, with storage built into it. It is big enough to be functional and to use as dining space. There are lots and lots of cabinets, and the way the designer added glass-fronted cabinets at the very top is just brilliant! You get that charming Craftsman style, without having to keep your everyday dishes in perfect order! And of course, the amazing windows are especially great in the kitchen. Working in the kitchen takes on an added radiance when you have that view! I enjoy coffee on the balcony, perfect for quiet mornings. You hear nothing but the songs of birds. The lot and location are really beyond magnificent. The preserve that we back to is special and closed to the public so that rare plants can regenerate. I feel so lucky to have lived on such an incredible piece of land! We watch frisky deer gambol and play all the time and we have really used our outdoor living areas. The way the house is designed makes you really feel a seamlessness between the outdoors and the indoors. The floors and counters are all natural materials, so that enhances the effect, along with the openness and spaciousness of the home. And if you feel like you can never have enough storage, you will love this house! Not an inch of space is wasted. It is so well-designed, with appropriate quality built-ins and surprise storage areas. I know that the new owner will enjoy this home as much as we have. It makes us smile, and has brought us much delight.
