My Notes

GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE! Over 1,600 feet with room to grow! This 4 bedroom stucco and slate Four Square home has gracious formal rooms, a NEW kitchen (August 2008), updated bath (Summer 2006), a FULL basement, a full front porch, and an almost 18'x18' GARAGE! Owners added 2-zone HVAC with central air and heat pump (Spring 2010) - almost $17,000 worth of improvements! The kitchen features new cream cabinets, Zodiac quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, an Italian porcelain tile floor, and a tumbled slate backsplash. The kitchen/living room has a pass-through island that allows bar stools on each side. There are four bedrooms, hardwood floors throughout, a large rear yard, energy efficient replacement windows, a brand new front porch (roof and columns) and too many other upgrades to mention! Within walking distance of Buttermilk Trail, Maymont, parks!
[Note: Garage currently has no working garage door, used as a workshop. Both garage and fireplaces convey in "as is" condition.]
Neighborhood Description
This neighborhood is within walking distance of two of Richmond's great natural treasures: Byrd Park, including Swan Lake, and Maymont Park, the former estate of the Dooleys. Additionally, the James River runs just to the south, and the James River Park System offers hiking and biking trails just blocks away! Truly, these trails are some of Richmond's best kept secrets. Additionally, these pastoral settings are just blocks away from the Historic Fan District, whcih has the largest contiguous collection of Victorian architecture in the United States, and Carytown, with its great mix of local merchants, restaurants, and the Historic Byrd Theater (home of the $1.99 second run movie, as well as one of the country's ONLY working Wurlitzer organs!). As far as convenience to the rest of the City and the Greater Metro Area, Maymont Terrace is just seconds away from Interstate access to Downtown and all points north, south, east and west.

What I love about the home

This house has an AMAZING kitchen, with an open pass-through to the living room, cream cabinets, a Zodiac quartiz counter, stainless steel appliances, a tumbled slate backsplash and a Italian porcelain tile floor. It has great access to all the major interstates and the Downtown Expressway. The home is within walking distance of the James River, the James River Trail system, Maymont Park, and Byrd Park. It is also only minutes from all the great shops, restaurants and galleries of the Fan District. With four full bedrooms, there is a lot of upstairs space. The full basement has loads of potential. With a large City lot, a full front porch (new April 2009), a great rear yard, and a garage/workshop, there are tons of extras. This home is an AMAZING value for the first time buyer who wants a yard and space and City convenience. Don't miss this opportunity!
