What I love
The most frequent comment from first time visitors is, "What a great backyard". The plantings are mature and 9 new trees were added last year. There is a two level deck out back that is great for summer breakfast and dinners. You never really see the backyard neighbors unless you want to. This kitchen is different and bigger than any split entry of similar design I have seen. The Kitchen is quite functional, has a has been updated in the last three years,and has a nice sized eating area in the same space. The rooms are light and all have been painted within the last two years. If you are in to entertaining you can park 8 cars off street in the driveway, plus two more in the garage. The front is landscaped and has a drip irrigation system. Should you have a lot of 'stuff' this house has tons of storage. It's quiet and has great access to lots of places. If you are into birds the backyard bird count is 41 species. On a lovely fall day last year there were 16 species in 20 minutes.Neighborhood Description
The immediate neighbors are all nice and easy to get along with. Folks invite one another for dinner and on occasion one will host a neighborhood event of some sort. There are two parks within a short walk, Woods and Gabriel. The Village is eight blocks away. In the village you can find two coffee houses, 5+ restaurants, a locally owned toy store, a brew pub, and a market with the largest bottled beer selection in Portland, and many other kinds of businesses. During the summer I hardly have to drive. I think the location is excellent, which is why I bought the house in the first place.More Less
