Introducing the Elizabeth C. Ralston estate!! This gracious 5 400+ S.F. estate property was constructed shortly after 1867 when Elizabeth Ralston purchased the lot from Benoni Lockwood (who was a New York developer that purchased 50+ acres and created what is now Evergreen and Montgomery Avenues). The first three estates that were constructed (this one is likely the first) are all tri-gabled Victorians of exquisite scale & proportion. What now graces the 1+ acre parcel is a 5 400+ S.F. residence that offers 5+ bedrooms and 3.5 baths with a gently sloping & private rear yard. The stolen vistas off the elevated screened porch in the rear are beautiful. You enter into a large central foyer with 12-foot ceilings marble flooring & several closets. The living room flanks the left side with 1 of the 5 fireplaces a bay window & a floor-to-ceiling window towards the porch. The dining room occupies the right side with a large bay window and the 2nd fireplace. Walk through the butler's pantry to the over-sized eat-in kitchen with the 3rd fireplace & access to the screened porch. One of the original doors to the kitchen has a linen-fold carved detail and beautiful iron work that looks like it could have been forged by Samuel Yellin. There is also a large storage room/closet as well as a large linen room with the original built-in cabinets. The full basement used to house the Summer kitchen & servants quarters and has high ceilings as well as direct access to the driveway. There is a fenced section out in the rear yard near the home which was used for the Owners dogs and tucked down into the rear yard is a 2-car garage (no longer served by a driveway) as well as a hidden terrace at the end of the property. Montgomery Avenue has numerous multi-million dollar estate properties therefor there is ample equity to justify any further investments into the restoration of this remarkably intact Victorian gem!  More Less
