Firstly, I need to explain that this house actually includes a shared living space. However, our situation is not likely appeal to most folks looking for rooms in shared housing. If you are not open to sharing a house with a single part-time parent, this rental is not for you. If on the other hand, you like the idea of a second adult in the house, who can help maintain the property and serve as backup childcare if you need to hit the bank or something, this may be just the thing. Here's the skinny: Master bed and bath for rent in a shared house. Your kids are welcome to share bedroom space with mine. 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2181 square feet, a fenced back yard, washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas heat and stove (great for cooking!), gorgeous view of the St. Johns bridge from the living room windows and master bedroom deck! The yard work is handled by a service -- no mowing! A couple blocks from Cathedral Park and downtown St. Johns with it's theaters, restaurants, and shops. Room for a garden and a hen house. Plenty of parking. Us - We are a single dad and 4 kids who live here part-time. Aged 5 (boy), 7 (boy), 12 (girl), and 15 (boy), and 43 (me), we are a fun bunch of folks with a wide variety of interests, talents, and hobbies. We like to make music, play in the park, and do art (among other things). The bedtime routine frequently features live classical or lap-slide guitar. I'm a left-leaning, omnivorous, non-smoking, beer/wine with dinner sort of oceanographer. I'm nice, tidy, and I don't smell bad.The situation - I'm currently set up in our awesome fixed-up garage, the kids will be in three bedrooms and share a bathroom with me. You will have the master bed and bath room, as well as the back porch overlooking the river and the bridge. There's also room outside the master bedroom for a small office if you need it. We will split utilities, which include gas, water, electricity, and garbage. 
What I love about the home
Great neighborhood, house backs to natural area and overlooks river and bridge. Walking distance to most everything. Easy commute into Portland. And its a very comfortable house.
