Savannah Quarters is a 2,600-acre community 12 minutes west of historic Savannah, Georgia. Savannah has long been a treasure. In 1864 during the Civil war, General William Tecumseh Sherman captured the city for the Union and spellbound by its beauty, deemed it a fitting Christmas present for President Abraham Lincoln. Thus, the city was spared from flames and its architecture was preserved. Sherman?s troops were actually housed or ?quartered? on the lands comprising Savannah Quarters. This is where the name ?Savannah Quarters? originated.
Today this parcel is a large master planned community containing residential, commercial and retail real estate. In October 2003, Medallist purchased the partnership interest of its development partner. This transaction positioned Medallist as the sole residential developer at Savannah Quarters. Savannah Quarters? unique community includes three residential quarters ? Westbrook, Easthaven and The Village. The residential areas provide homesites, townhomes, single family and estate homes to meet the needs of a diverse community, while the commercial areas, with planned shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, offices and more, bring together the conveniences and delights reminiscent of a small town.
