My Notes

Edit
This 1300 square foot condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is located on the second floor of the Griffin Condominium, at the corner of 26th and K Streets in Northwest DC. Both streets are one-way and very quiet. The Griffin is only 3 blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro and a 5 minute walk into Georgetown. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and many more shops and restaurants are all located within walking distance.
Neighborhood Description
Foggy Bottom is one of Washington, DC's oldest 19th century neighborhoods, so named because, as a low-lying area, fog (widespread in the swamps of early Washington) tended to concentrate there. It is located to the west of downtown DC in the Northwest quadrant, southeast of Georgetown along the shore of the Potomac River and south of Washington Circle.
Foggy Bottom was once a community of Irish, German, and African-American laborers employed at the nearby breweries, glass plants, and the city gas works. The historic neighborhood is preserved and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Today, the development of a parkway along the Potomac, the trend toward restoration and preservation of neighborhood areas, the proximity to memorials, the Department of State and such high-rise buildings as the Watergate have lent Foggy Bottom a special place in the city. Indeed, the late 19th-century working class neighborhood is still discernible from its immediate surroundings.

Market guide

Zillow predicts Foggy Bottom home values will fall 0.8% next year, compared to a 1.6% rise for Washington as a whole. Among Foggy Bottom homes, this home is valued 87% more than the midpoint (median) home, but is valued 7.7% less per square foot.

Foreclosures will be a factor impacting home values in the next several years. In Foggy Bottom, the number of foreclosures waiting to be sold is 60.5% higher than in Washington, and 31.4% greater than the national average. This higher local number may prevent Foggy Bottom home values from rising as quickly as other regions in Washington.
