For Sale By Owner, FSBO
"For Sale By Owner," or FSBO (pronounced "fizz-bo"), simply means that the homeowner handles the sale of their home instead of hiring a licensed real estate agent or broker who is trained to handle all aspects of the transaction. Homeowner benefits include saving money by not paying an agent's commission, independence in handling the deal themselves, and more room to negotiate final price to entice a buyer. Homeowners should be aware that the FSBO process can be time–consuming and stressful — and there are no guarantees it'll pay off in the long run. That said, if the homeowner is up for the challenge, going FSBO can be exciting, empowering, and could result in cost savings.
