Lost my step daughter's transcripts for 2 weeks! Actually asked me "are you sure she graduated from here?". Upon showing them the diploma they were like "That doesn't help us." The guidance counselors will not call me back concerning scheduling conflicts with my son. Apparently they have no clue. Anyone who thinks this school is top notch apparently has does not have much life experience. New and shiny is not always better!

While the school is beautiful and has a good arts program I have had issues with our now sophomore. There are teachers who even the guidance counselors know want to see the kids fail which I find appalling. Our experience with athletics via the football team has been horrible. I haven't figure out if the coaches are trying to win or not but I do know they don't play a lot of kids no matter what the score. I've watched my son on the side lines when they were 60 points down too many times. I'd make him quiit but he's determined to see it through. So much for building kids up!

Bad not Great material. Some of the teachers are amazing and others are rude and substandard. My kids are going to private school now.

Our son has been blessed enough from his four years at Carolina Forest to be accepted to the highest ranked University in SC. Where many parents we know that had kids at other schools and many have complained they are struggling at the college level feeling their high school did not properly prepared their children we feel very fortunate. CFHS did such a good job that our son just made the Dean's List in his first semester of college thank-you Carolina Forest High! Coach Jolly Mrs Jacobs Mr Iagulli and Mr Barber were all amazing educators and Mrs Twigg is not a teacher she is an angel from heaven sent to make a difference in the lives of so many young people today. Needless to say we HIGHLY recommend CFHS when moving to MB SC...This is not one of the best schools this is the Best High School in Horry County!

Carolina Forest is one of the best high schools in Horry County. They have the highest SAT and ACT scores and their are multiple choices for AP and Honors classes. They have an excellent rating. The school appeals to many different interests. They have sports show choir journalism art FFA and many different clubs you can join. The administration staff is very nice and you can go to them for anything. Most of the teachers I've had have been good and the few that are bad are already being looked over by the admin. staff. Sure there are drug problems and the spoiled rich kid problems but what school doesn't have that problem? And the whole thing about sports being the only people that are appreciated isn't true. CFHS is also proud of their show choir and theater program. They've made many breakthroughs within the past few years. Academics are also appreciated. I can say that the things that make it bad such as fights and drugs are no where near as bad as schools such as Socastee and Conway. This is an amazing school.

I was just reading over the reviews of this school and am absolutely shocked. This is my daughter's first year here but she has had an absolutely positive experience. She is not an athlete so I'm not sure about the "preferential treatment" others referred to. She is an Honors student who is very involved in the Show Choir and the FBLA and has been challenged academically since being there. There seem to be many types of people from many different backgrounds who mesh well. My child is friends with all kinds of people from every religious socio-economic cultural backgrounds imaginable. Teachers have been very easy to contact and communicate with and I've been pleased with the administration as a whole. I cannot imagine having my child at any other High School in Horry County.

I am sorry but to all you people that have something against CFHS don t really know this school it is quite an amazing school there is nothing the teachers an admin. would not do to help us succeed in school and in life. I have been in Carolina Forest Schools since pre-School and I am now entering into my senior year proudly at Carolina Forest High School!

It is really not that bad of a school. People sit on this and complain because they have nothing better to do. This school has come a long way from where it started and it is only going to get better

This school has top SAT and ACT scores as well as good teachers. There are a number of students not motivated to become anything nor any life goals and cause trouble for the 90% that do and take up a lot of admin time to deal with. Athletes at ALL schools placed on a pedistal so this complaint is universal. Considering all the problems this state has funding the needs for buildings materials and teachers this school has done so much with so little I have a daughter that has her name on the walls of the shcool now for 1320 SAT score she took in 10th grade. Biggest problem the motiovated students deal with are the violent drug dealing unmotivated kids that cause so much trouble.

We have had terrible experiences with this school. The teachers seem to care although they lack the authority to control their classes. My daughter an A student in honors classes was discouraged from attending after she was ill and missed 6 weeks. On a regular basis I picked up and returned her work yet the counselour spoke with me and said if she is not going to take school seriously she should just drop out. A friend while receiving his Masters in Education interned here. Basically he was not allowed to teach and had to spoon feed the answers to the kids. Discouraged he doesn't teach. Athletes not scholars are recognized and encouraged. Unless your child is a star athlete don't send them here.

This school is amazing! The people who think is horrible don't have a clue what they are talking about! The outdoor campus is beautiful the teachers are amazing and guidance is always looking out for students best interest! I would highly recommend attending this school because the students and the staff are extremely welcoming.

I went to Carolina Forest for two years and the school is awesome. There are some really wonderful teachers who genuinely care about their student's success. The only thing that bothered me was guidance's attitude towards college. They almost discouraged students from applying to reach or dream schools instead of trying to pump them up. It's obviously not a preparatory school but the facilities and faculty are still great. Highly recommended! Take Ginger Jacobs for any science possible!

The athletes do get away with a lot. I went to school there and they would change my classes around to work with my football and wrestling. The administration staff is horrible. They just want to look good for the school board. But the teachers are great!

We had a horrible experience at this school. The adminstration was not accountable numerous attempts to work with the school failed no return calls or emails. Only time we had any response was when we involved the school board. Commerical for school vouchers.

The administration in this school only seems to care about how they look and not the best interest of the students. We had several problems with this school while our children attended here. We made numerous attempts to help our child succeed in his education but the principal and administration were not willing to help with solutions. They denied any suggestions we had. If your child is involved in sports this school is great as those students get special privileges and are not made accountable for their actions while children who are not involved in sports are harassed for not being involved and every little thing they do is documented. I highly suggest to parents to find other school to send their children.

I love this school and so does my child. The teachers are very well educated and it really shows. There was some over crowding last year but it will be better this year due to the other school built during the summer. This will be our second year here and we are so excited to start another wonderful year.

    1. Most importantly there are some great teachers there. Others should not be there. 2. Significant discipline issues in/out of classroom. Appears administration won't or can't gain control of problem. My child an average student suffered in this chaotic environment. Worked with administration over long period hoping for resolution. After months withdrew my child 3. Overcrowding significant. 4. School looks good on the surface administration knows all the right things to say. My opinion based on my child's experience. Research for yourself talk to other parents before moving into this school zone.

We moved here from another state and we are not at all happy. Academicly CFHS is way behind. Alot of the kids are just wild and their is no discipline. They talk back to the teachers and the teachers do nothing. The main form of discipline is in school detention even for serious infractions. Drugs are very easy to get. Too many spoiled rich kids in this area. CFHS doesn't want you to know that they have alot of problem kids because they want you think they are the best school in Horry C0. We are looking to move to St. James or Socastee area.

An outstanding school with a first class faculty and staff. You can not ask for a better school or one that is more successful in everything that it attempts.
