As a parent it was important for my child and myself to become acquainted with the school and from day one the principal and staff have been very helpful and supportive. Middle school is a transitional stage in any kid's life. Like any school there will be a few misguided students that may influence others to act out but if the resources are there to make something of yourself it is a student's choice to follow or lead. It is the student's and parents responsibility to become involved and accountable. I would love to see more in-school & after-school activities for students to think outside the box and prepare for college. This is a wonderful school with a great group of teachers and students

What can I say? I love my middle school. Great tno eachers clubs programs to help the students be better leaders. Football volleyball soccer band student council karate ap & pre-ap classes. Is not true what some people say about the kids being bad. Whoever that wants to be bad he/she will be no one will force the students. #1 SCHOOL OF ALL TIME! #LeopardPride

Teachers are very supporting and caring for their students but they have various discipline problems that need to be solved. Students are very disrespectful towards their teachers and they do what they desire without being given the right kind of consequence. According to students who attend this school the major reason of low test scores this year are the discipline problems that interfere with the everyday lessons taught by the teachers. It's a good school with great teachers but I suggest there should be more parent involvement.

The so called "parent" who wrote the earlier review clearly is not a member of the community or probably has a child who ever attended my school. I've been an educator at this excellent campus for the past seven years and as one of the leaders of the school I would have been one of the first contacts if any parent had any concerns. I've received nothing but positive comments by outside observers of our faculty the extra curricular programs and culture of tolerance that is supported at our school.

Wow I when to this school back in 2000 2001 its a really good school good teachers they teach very well they have a good programs the bad think. Is some of the students when I was there for my 6grade there was nothing bu. Gangs you had to chose witch one to join in or to kick it for protection lol I was jump so many time cuz of the people I was kicking it with but I will not change nothing I was just telling my friends about when I lived in Houston. So now look at me I when to google to search my old middle school I can't wait to go visit its a good school moms just ask ur kids to be safe not to be around or kick it with any gangs members if they don't wand trouble but yes when I was in that school it was years ago so the things may have change idk to every teacher there yal are doing a good job thanks.

This is the worst school and horrible district altogether. My child since going there was assaulted missing kept after bullied and underminded all without notifying myself or my wife. I took my issues all the way to the superintendent because i was disgusted and furious with their so called policies and security that are never enforced. The staff is unprofessional rude and there isn't any communication what so ever. My child safety is #1 but this school doesn't care much about that.

I have been to this school three times as a substitute teacher. My first experience for a 6th grade Vanguard math teacher was positive (expectations were high and the students were well-behaved). My second experience for an 8th grade English teacher was quite negative. The teacher had gone on maternity leave but the school had not bothered to get a long-term sub there were NO lesson plans/materials whatsoever and her students (about whom one of the employees warned me that morning) in spite of the fact that I had the principal come to the room completely disregarded me. My third experience for a 6th grade English teacher was deplorable! Her students behaved so poorly that my nerves were frayed by the end of the day. I have not been back since. Unless your child is accepted into the Vanguard program I would NOT recommend this school.

This is an outstanding school. This is my first year in this school and I already love it and can't wait until seventh grade. Kids at this school years back may have put a bad name to it but the principals are the best. They keep "us" students very calm. The teachers are excellent! Please do not listen to what every one says this school is like because most have only heard false accusations. The best school in Houston!!!
