You cannot take advantage of a more excellent school than this one. So many bright students that want to challenge themselves. Teachers and classes can get tough especially in English.

The teachers are less than honest because they see that the administration is less than honest. They do not feel that they should be bothered by having to follow special ed rules/laws.
I LOVE MY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most everyone has a fabulous attitude and I am really learning about myself and what is best for me. The academics are crazy challenging everyone is so competitive at everything they do from golf to french club to GPA to class rank. Almost all of our sports are in the top five in the state. Highlights are Band Swimming and Diving Cross Country Basketball and Fillies. Teachers are willing to listen and help you. Drugs are not a problem AT ALL if you know who to avoid. There is no bullying and everyone is big family no matter what the grade. Please dont bash the school we love it and its taken a lot of work to get where we are! <3
Kingwood High School is both academically & athletically top rated in the Houston area. 25%+ of our students have a GPA of 4.0+
My three kids have gone to Kingwood Highschool and all have had great experiences .
Both of my kids graduated for KHS. Both graduated college. One had 2/3 scholarship from sports and acedemics. Didn't have any drug problems. It is competetive but there is a lot to be involved in.
I moved to Kingwood just prior to my senior year and as one would guess I was very upset. HOWEVER Kingwood High was an excellent experience from me. The people were extremely friendly especially for an affluent area. I made so many friends and had tons of fun. The academics were very challenging but looking back now I realize it prepared me for college. Almost all of the athletic programs are among the state's elite. Move here if you want your children to be in competition in either academics sports or fine arts and if you want them to graduate from a high school that has a very good reputation amongst all Texas universities and even nation-wide.
I was involved in Cross-Country Track Newspaper Student Council French club Tricycling and I was in NHS. Kingwood is an amazing school for those kids who enjoy people like to be involved like challenging courses and have a little bit of school pride. I am proud to say I graduated from here students who learn well from Kingwood will go far in life. One of the cool things I noticed was that although the school was cliquish it was not hard to make many friends and there was absolutely no 'popular' crowd. Fortunatley though there are many ways to feel connected to the school through various clubs
Communications at Kingwood High School are not as strong and timely as those at Kingwood Park High School Kingwood Park High School staff care for each student's learning and how well they feel at being part of the school community. Not so at Kingwood High.
Kingwood school has a lot of politics. Be prepared
Even though Kingwood High is known for being the best and most succesful hish school in Humble ISD there are a fe bad things about it. Yes sure academics are great but when it comes to safety it is one of the worst. I attended here 1 1/2 ago as a transfer student and drugs are a problem. If your children attend here and you actually care about your children's safety i would seriouly recommend having a talk about drugs with them.
Kingwood High school is a wonderfull school. Lots of parent involvement. Great teachers and elective options. You can view your students grades online. You can also be e-mailed when your students grade drops below a grade that you set. Teachers e-mail what assignments are due and test dates. Students are also able to access thier text books online.
Good teachers poor administration.
Kingwood HS has a wide variety of advance course option for students. In fact Kingwood HS has the 2nd largest amount of National Honor Society memebers in the United States. Kingwood HS has won the Lone Star cup more times than any other HS in Texas. The Lone Star cup measures the academic and sports excellence in High Schools across Texas. Kingwood HS has a high level of parental involvement and an active parents booster club. I have found that parent involvement at Kingwood HS to be very active
Very competitive school. Winner of the Lone Star Cup many times. Students graduate well prepared for college.
I have a child that transferred into KHS as a junior. I have been very pleased with the school. I am amazed at how many opportunities (clubs and organizations) there are for students to get involved. My child would be considered a 'go-getter' and has jumped in with both feet and loves the school. Although outgoing it has been hard to make close friendships as most of the students grew up in Kingwood and have been friends since childhood. The school is pretty clique-ish but then again what HS isn't? All in all love the school love the teachers. I would caution parents of kids who are not as outgoing or need a little extra attn. This may not be the school for you. We have been happy so far but not sure if we will send our other children there or not- will depend on how their personalities develop.
This school is very organized and proactive with kids.
Generally a good school. It's very large compared to other high schools nationally so some students may have a hard time finding their identity. Plenty of AP and honors classes.
I am new to the area and the administration has been outstanding in assisting with much requested information. There are many programs that fit every kind of student so that all kids can belong to a club.
Kingwood High School provides a broad well organized curriculum including top prep courses for College including Latin Spanish Biology Mathematics Debate among others. The counselors help students to identify colleges early that match up well for each student. The campus experience and atmosphere is wonderful and the extracurricular activities on and off campus provide a well rounded base for any student far beyond that of most public schools. Kingwood is tops in the large metropolitan area of Houston. They also offered AP classes to help students test out of college entry level classes and graduate college in a 4 year time frame. Kingwood provides a wonderful challenging and solid base for the student preparing to his or her college education
