How to Edit Your Home Facts

We know our data isn't always correct, and now we have a way for you to update it. You can set the record straight by editing the facts about your home.

5 things to know about editing your home facts:

  1. Only owners can edit their home facts
  2. Before you edit your facts, we will confirm you're the legal owner of the home
  3. After you edit your home facts, they will be visible to the public
  4. Your edited home facts will not immediately affect the Zestimate® home valuation, but they will help improve the accuracy of your Zestimate over time
  5. Added bonus: Your edited home facts will pre-populate Step 1 of the My Estimator tool. (This will give you a head start in creating your own estimate.)

Important note: Before you can edit your home facts, you will need to register and claim ownership of your home. This is to ensure you are the true and legal owner of the home. Once you've done that, go find your home.

Start Editing Your Home Facts

To start editing home facts, you must be on your home details page. To find your home details page:

  1. Enter your address in the search field at the top of any page and click "Go."
  2. Click on your address in the bubble on the map
  3. From your home details page, click the "Edit Home Facts" button in the Home Facts module.

Once you're on the "Update Home Information" page, in addition to editing home facts, you can also:

  • Upload photos
  • Add home features and description
  • Add neighborhood and school information

Updating any of this information on Zillow is optional.

That's it! Where to now?
