What is Home Q&A?
With Home Q&A, you can ask questions about any home and get answers — or, help others by providing answers to their questions.
Can anyone write questions and answers?
Anyone can write questions and answers — owners, agents, neighbors — anyone! As long as you're a registered Zillow user, you can join the conversation.
Can I write questions or answers anonymously?
Sorry — you cannot leave anonymous questions or answers. Before asking a question about a home or answering a question, you need to register with Zillow and create a screen name. Your screen name — and your photo, if you upload one — will appear next to your contribution and will include a link to your profile.
Where do I leave a question?
You can leave a question on any home by entering your question in the Home Q&A box on the home's details page.
What sort of questions can I ask?
You can ask any questions you want about the home. For instance, if you're interested in a home that's for sale, ask the seller about nearby schools, or ask the listing agent when they're taking offers. Wondering who your neighbors down the street used for their remodel? Ask them on their home's details page. All that we ask is that you stay on topic (the home) and adhere to our Good Neighbor Policy.
Can I answer a question?
Yes, you can answer any question by clicking the "Answer" link under the question you'd like to answer.
If I post a question, will I be identified?
Your question or answer will include your screen name, a link to your Zillow profile page, and your photo, if you added one. Also, if you are the claimed owner or listing agent for the home, all questions and answers you write will indicate that you are the owner or listing agent.
Can I contact someone who posted a question or answer?
If you open the user's profile page and you see a "Contact Me" button, then click the button and you will be taken to a contact form. If there is no "Contact Me" button on their profile page, it means the user has opted out of being contacted.
Is there a way for me to be notified if someone posts a question on my home?
Yes. If you are the homeowner and have claimed your home, you will be notified by e-mail when someone asks a question about your home. Since these are automatically-generated e-mails, you cannot opt out of receiving these e-mails.
What if I'm the listing agent? Will I also be notified?
Yes. You will also get an e-mail notification each time someone posts a question on a home you have listed on Zillow. When you answer a question, a link to your profile and photo will appear next to your answer.
Someone posted a negative remark on my house. What can I do?
You can add your point of view for everyone to see. If you have claimed ownership of the home, any question or answer you write about your home will indicate that you are the owner. But if someone has written something that is malicious, please click the "Flag content" link under the question or answer, and Zillow Customer Support will review it. If it is off-topic or violates our Good Neighbor Policy, it will be removed.
Can I prevent someone from asking questions about my home?
Since Zillow is a community site, we want everyone to be able to contribute and ask questions. For this reason, we allow any Zillow user to ask questions about any home.
How long will a question live on the page? Do they expire?
Questions do not expire. However, if you no longer see a question that was originally posted, it means that the person who asked the question has removed it, or the question has been deleted by Zillow Customer Support.
I asked a question about someone's home, but now I want to remove it. Can I?
Yes, you can — just go to that home's details page, scroll down to the Home Q&A section, and click the "Delete" link at the bottom of your question. Please note that if your question has been answered, the answers will also be deleted if you choose to delete your question.
What if I see a question or answer that has objectionable content, or advertising content? What do I do?
Please click the "Flag content" link under the question or answer, and Zillow Customer Support will review it.
