Very upset with the staff at this school. My 10 year old son which is in the fourth grade was beaten up on the the play ground 5 kids were suspended over the incident including my son. He was pushed off the slide had his head slammed into a metal pole punched in the face choked and his hair pulled all while 4 teachers were supposed to be supervising the playground. Four teachers and not one saw a thing.

I have had 3 kids go to this school. I am very happy with what they have done. My middle child had a learning disability and Sylvan did nothing for him. When we transferred to this school they helped him tremendously. He is now in 5th grade and making great strides. My youngest is in the advanced program. They teachers have all been great to help and to keep me informed. I am an involved parent and they don't mind that at all. Any problems that have come up have been resolved quickly. I love this school and the teachers that are there. I have had a child in every grade at this school. Their special ed teachers are wonderful.

My child transferred from Mehelville going in to the second grade. thanks to the caring Mrs Smith my child learned to read in one year and was never overlooked or made fun of. He has had special attention for reading and now going into the sixth grade reads above his level. Communication is the key in this school district any parent that is willing to listen and be involved will never have a child overlooked. It is as much the parents responsibility as the teachers to make sure the education is there. They are always willing to talk to you as well as hear you and give advice.

I am really upset with this school district. My child began having troubles with reading at the final semester of secon grade yet this information was not brought to my attention until the final semester of the third grade. While the school continued to state 'the child has a learning disability' others who evaluated him stated 'this child was overlooked' Thanks to the Sylvan Learning Center my child is currently on Honor Roll and reading at the expected level.

I am a mother of 2 children that attend H.S.E. and I have one starting there in this next school year and I am so happy with the staff. My son needed extra special help and they made sure he got it. I believe that the teachers are so interested in the childrens needs. My child was doing poorly until they put him in a special ed. class and since then his grades are great! Thanks to Mrs.Heider and Mrs.Cox who made this happen. And thanks to everyone else who had helped.Thank You so much...... Sincerely. A COncerned and happy 3rd. grade parent. Thanks for wanting to help my child be a better student.....

I'm not completely happy with some of the ideas at this school. Several teachers here find a weakness and hammer that child to no end. No mistake's overlooked even accidents are considered violations of 'school policies'. Academics are overlooked if behavior is a problem. Student's names are put on the board if they receive a bad grade for all the others to see. Confidentiality is not practiced and self esteem suffers. Overall 'D' at best in my opinion.

I went to several schools when I was in school both public and private and I have never seen a school district that cares so much about the quality of education their students receive. They keep the parents updated on their childrens progress whether it good or bad. I would rate this an A+ school!
