Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School Johnstown PA This school has high academic standards and a lot of extra curricular activities however it falls short when supporting the Catholic values on which it stands. Bullying has occurred and does occur in this school. When children are sons/daughters of prominent people in the Westmont community little is done to address those bullying behaviors. It is very sad because this is a very good school otherwise. On a positive there is a new principal who hasn't had much time to make change. This could be the "shot in the arm" this school needs.

Thank god the is an alternative to westmont in the area. This school has been a godsend to me and my children. No bullying and very warm atmosphere with a top rate education.
My five year old is attending this school for the first time this year and her father and I love what we have been seeing! The school staff are very friendly and helpful and my child is learning so much! I am very happy with our decision.
Our Mother of Sorrows is a nurturing environment that has enriched our son's life academically and spiritually - The teachers and staff are caring and the students are like an extended family. Definately an excellent choice.
Omos is a wonderful school that i am proud to send my child to. They have a very good curriculum and are very attnetivce to the students.
OMOS provides many great academic as well as extracurricular opportunities. Math Counts reading competitions forensics a strong music program ski club and many winning sports programs. Parental involvement is unbelievable. Great Home School association that plans events for the students such as Valentine's Day Party and end of the year Carnival. Christian values are stressed. First private school in Pennsylvania to institute an anti-bullying program. I have had two children graduate from OMOS and when they got to high school they were so well prepared. Strong math and English programs and great computer lab. Tuition very reasonable. Parents who have transferred their children in from other areas of the country cannot believe the low tuition compared to the high quality of education that their children receive.
