My child has attended Bacich for two new years now. There does not seem to be the same level of importance placed on academics as in other countries. My oldest son attended German schools when we lived in Europe. They were far more structured and seemed to pull out the full potential of the children they instructed. They accomplished this in a relentless but non-punishing manner never exceeding a student s mental fatigue capacity. In comparison Bacich has a much lower standard and breaks the learning focus with hours spent on what I term extramural studies. These extramural studies may be fun for the children however they are not returning home as prepared as their German counterparts. I believe the extramural experiences can be developed and shared by the families. I know Bacich is following a set curriculum established by the Government (no child left behind) but would like to see some thinking outside the box once in a while to cultivate the wonderful little minds which are in their trust.
