South Has Improved in the Students some Over the Past Couple Of Years. And I honestly would rather go to South than alot of other schools in the area. It seems like we are a big family here. Especially after the passing of a few students the past couple years. Everyone really come together to mourn and I really feel at home. As far as academics I think Most of the teachers could care less as to if you even pass or not. Some pile busy work on you that doesnt help you at all and some let you sleep all class period. But all together I have only had one or two teachers that I really felt like was there to help me.

I am a senior at Sullivan South and I went to Unicoi before I came back here. This school is not a great school. I have to get tutors for my classes because my teachers won't help me. Unicoi is a very clean school but I also went to Science Hill at one point. I have been to a few schools in my short high school period and I would definitely say Science Hill is the best. But hopefully my senior year will go ok..

As a senior at Sullivan South I would've done anything to have had the opportunity to attend a better school. There are several teachers that are excellent but most barely teach anything at all and their students can be found wandering the halls for hours. South is the place to be if you do not care about being prepared for college counseled properly or challenged to be a creative hands-on learner. If you're satisfied with the average high school South is fine. If you want something more continue your search. I certainly wish my parents had explored other options.

The community is very enjoyable the teenagers of this area are great kids. Spiritual values are still strong here making for polite calm and respectful young adults. The school facility itself could use some landscaping upgrades to update the exterior image. Staff seems to go across the board. Some take the sacred job of teaching seriously while others are just as immature as some of the students. Honestly I think the guidance counselors are passive and if you don't hunt them down to perform on behalf of your child (or children) they will miss out on a lot of opportunities and direction. These faculty members have the future of their students at stake but they seem to just put out fires instead of educating the entire student body. What is a guidance counselor? Exactly! This seems to be my experience in several different states. Great Public School!

Honestly South is a pretty good school but it's just barely above average. There are a few teachers and faculty members I've seen who should seriously be evaluated; they are rude and incompetent to students. Though granted I've met plenty of qualified kind adults there too. As for the building itself I only have a problem with the restrooms. There is rarely any soap. Though for the actual educations students receive I believe most the South teachers do a nice job at teaching.

I'm a Freshman going there. Both of my Parents went there(my dad in the first graduating class) and I'll graduate in 2010. I love it ther it is AWESOME. We have a great student community. We also have an awesome athletic and academic programs. From what I understand we have one of the top Junior Air Force ROTC program. I'm loving this year at South and I love the fact I still have three more years. Oh yeah I almost forgot. GO REBELS!

The only think i noticed when we walk into the school was it would look nice to see trees landscaping flowers and this would look great on the front of the school. You could get volunteers to do the work. Have work days once a year. this school looks great but i thought this would make it look lots better. The grass should be fertilized and neat.I know this would be a lot of work but the students would take pride in keeping it this way.Marie

South may not be 'rich' or have a lot of money but it does great with what money it does have. The kids are safe and get a good education and that is all that matters. South is a very close school and everybody knows everybody. All the faculty is nice and they know almost every student by name. The parents are involved with their kids and what they are doing. There are plent of extracurricular activites for the kids to choose from. South is a great school no matter what anybody says.

I have one boy who graduated from South and a senior there now. The teachers are great and South has a lot of activities. The quality of education is high. The drawback is lack of money for some nice touches like transportation for activities and sports. The county has little money to work with.
