End-of-Course Assessments (EOC)

In 2011-2012 Missouri used the End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments to test high school students in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English I, English II, American History, Government, and Biology. The EOC Assessments are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Missouri for each subject. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.

Great community support for Kirkwood High School (as well as the middle/elementary schools). The teachers are world-class and the facilities are constantly being upgraded - new science building and gymnasium renovated football/soccer/track stadium and a new pool coming soon!

I have no idea why this school is rated 8 out 0f 10 when it is the third leading high school in the entire state of Missouri! It was a 10 out of 10 a couple of years ago. It is STILL a 10 out of 10!!

I have already graduated three children from Kirkwood High School (2003 2004 and 2007). I now have a Freshman and Senior at Kirkwood High School and am very happy with the school as I always have been. The school has great teachers and there is a place at Kirkwood High for EVERY type of student. Yes it has sports theater art music...everything you want and need but EVERY child is accepted for who they are and are celebrated and supported!! THAT is what is most important to me!

This is a great school district with always improving facilities. There is a great neighborhood feel with this school as well. All AP and advanced classes are offered and the community spirit is alive and thriving. The curriculum is what you make of it. If you use it to your advantage you will succeed.

Because they offer so much to the students and everyone works together so well including sports and music - understanding you can play sports (football basketball hockey) and still be in band too.ceiv

As the principal puts it "We love your kids." This shows in everything including academics sports music theater and the rapport that the teachers have with the kids. Our kids and our family are proud to be part of the Kirkwood Pioneer Community!

It is a great school with a broad curriculum. Each teacher I have met displays enthusiasm for his/her subject as well as for his/her students.

Who ever gave principal leadership less than 5 stars is crazy! Dr Holley goes to every sporting event and every year gets to know every single student! He goes to the english classrooms and learns everyones name and what they do at KHS or on their free time. I love KHS! Great school. I have learned so much! Go Pioneers!

I recently transferred to this school as a senior and started late and so far it seems like a good school and good education but students dont reach out to newer students and thats my only problem here so far

Kirkwood HS is a great balance of supporting develepment for all students and for allowing encouraging participation in sports and clubs and other activities. We moved to Kirkwood for the schools and so far are very happy with what we have experienced. The leadership is top notch and cares about the students more than anything. This is very good and somewhat unusual in public schools. The music and arts programs are exceptional. The athletics program is wonderful too. So much for the kids to do and participate in. They don't have time for mischief!

I have two teenagers currently enrolled at Kirkwood High School. My two daughters have opposite interests and hobbies and Kirkwood accomodates both of their personalities. The teachers are top-of-the-line and give 100%. The business department is outstanding and has sparked my daughter's enthusiasm for advertising. I believe Kirkwood is the best school in St. Louis county.

Kirkwood Senior High School is one of the best public schools one could possibly attend. The teachers will work with a students whether it's the whole class or individual. Kirkwodd's music program are one of the best in the area. They go to participate all over America. Kirkwood's athletic program is just as fabulous the swim/dive team has a GPA of 4.1 and the football team has been to the semi-finals (04-05). Overall Kirkwood is a wonderful place to receive an education for any kind of student.

I am currently senior at KHS. I have had a class with almost every teacher in the building. Each teacher loves what they do and they care about their students. The AP courses are challenging yet the teachers who teach them are top notch. Our drama department is top of the line our athletic programs consistently do well. Every other department in the school is always looking for ways to improve their already great program. Read the school's mission statement it describes KHS to a T. There are a ton of options to get involved at school. Here at KHS we love our sports and we all have a good time but not at the expense of others and not at the expense of our studies. Kirkwood is a great school I encourage you to visit the school and ask to be shown around attend a sports game.

We chose to homeschool our children while they were young and up to the age of about 14. Our reasons were not because of any reservations about the kirkwood schools. Our reasons were simply because we strongly believe in homeschooling for young kids. When our children became high school age we actually visited all of the schools that were top ranked in the st. Louis area (both public and private.) As parents we even sat in on classes! we decided kirkwood was one of the top 3 best choices anyone could have made. We have never regretted that decision. We happen to be certified teachers as well if that gives any additional credence to our evaluations. Kirkwood's orchestral and arts prgrms are stellar and can not even be found in private schools. The honors and ap options are top notch and challenging. Diversity and tolerance nicely coexist too.

I have had two children attend this school. One graduated in May 2003 and the other is currently enrolled. Besides many Advance Placement courses there are terrific theatre music and other fine arts programs in addition to a comprehensive athletic department. I credit the extremely talented teachers for preparing my older child to get excellent ACT and SAT scores which enabled her to be accepted to a prestigious and highly selective college. The English Math History and Drama deartments are unequalled among St. Louis metropolitan area public high schools.

I am actually a former student of Kirkwood High School and I had a great time there. Kirkwood has great teachers that really help the students get ready for college. We have a reputation for being very welcoming and friendly so it helps raise students self-esteem and makes them feel comfortable. There is a wide variety of sports and extracurricular activities to join even racquetball! Kirkwood has won the National Championship in racquetball 3 times in a row! If I still live in Saint Louis when I have children Kirkwood would be my #1 choice and I strongly recommmend Kirkwood if you are looking for an awesome public school to send you child to.

Kirkwood High is an excellent school with many opportunities for parents and students to excell. I have one graduate and two now in the school. My one son is in a special program that is for children with medical diagnosis of an emotional disorder(he has Bi Polar disorder.) He has become an honor roll student willing to work under the program. I've seen him blossom from a very sad young man into a very confident one over the past two years. As they say on the Cross Country Team Go Wood!
