GREAT school. Our son attended and graduated from 8th grade last year at the Hillside School and loved it. The school with its' supportive staff restored his self-esteem and joy in learning. It is a very small school with very personal attention to your child and his/her needs. I would highly recommend scheduling a tour if your child is not flourishing in a traditional setting.

Hillside school was exactly the type of school I was searching for when my 16 year old son needed to transfer mid-year. Hillside is a smaller private school that caters to families who are seeking an "alternative" to traditional high school. The school is popular with La Canada High School students seeking night or summer classes as well. Bob Frank the director leads the school in a very personal and caring manner. He is attentive to every parent and student. He is always available to speak with parents for any concerns they may have. Academic program here is solid. College counseling is highly regarded for those students who are college bound. Onsite counseling/therapy is another option. Overall I would highly recommend this school.
