The EOG is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of North Carolina. Students must pass the grade 8 EOG test in order to graduate from high school. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the tests.

Great school! The teachers and principal go way beyond their duty to ensure that every child gets the best education possible! The staff also are concerned with every child's social development and character. I have grandchildren in several areas in the state and TCH's quality of education far exceeds the others. One grandchild attended TCH Kindergarten-3rd grade. He was being tutored after school for reading. His teacher stayed after school to tutor her students that requested help. Mid-way through third grade this grandson moved to a school in Union County NC. There he was placed in the AIG program because he was so far ahead of the other students. TCH's principal is well respected and even admired by the students. He sets a great example for the students and makes certain that every student's education and well-being are exemplary. He is well respected by the parents also. I am a mother of six and grandmother of eight and I see a major difference at this school. The staff need to be commended for their dedication to this school and our children.
