We love OLPH Catholic School! With the shorter school years and large classroom sizes we looked for an option other than our local public school and ended up at OLPH. The faculty is great and the small financial sacrifice is more than worth the quality of education our kids are receiving! The very low tuition prices surprised us especially compared to other schools and tuition assistance has also helped us.

My daughter is very happy at OLPH. The lower class sizes make a big difference and help the kids bond with each other more easily. You would never see a fight here or even a big blow-up between students. When there's a disagreement there is an overwhelming sense of family and concerns are resolved as such. It is comforting to know that my daughter can feel secure and confident here.

Our kids have attended OLPH for three years now and we are incredibly happy with the school. The teachers are very dedicated and kind. The principal is very involved and fair. Parental involvement is very high which is what makes the difference with the kids. The campus is clean well-secured and enrichment programs are offered like Math Club athletics and a Spanish program. We are very happy with OLPH and our kids are happy there too.

OLPH is a really great school. The teachers are top-notch and the quality of education is worth every penny. Just the other day a second-grade student was asking the janitor for help with a paint spill. When he asked how big the spill was she answered 'I don't know but it looks like a Jackson Pollock painting!' Direct courtesy of OLPH's first-grade teacher! I don't think I knew who Jackson Polock was until I was in my 20's! We're a large family on a small budget and we're grateful that OLPH has a tuition assistance program. And for a private school it's the least-expensive around! There are lots of opportunities to volunteer and we love being involved in our children's school experience. We really love OLPH and are glad we chose to send our kids there.

When looking for a school for our kids we visited three public school districts two charter schools and a number of private schools. We settled on OLPH for a number of reasons affordability easy accessibility (can't wait till they finish the 52 transition road!) the low student teacher ration (17 1 I think?) and its consistent track record in turning out good kids and talented students. We stay because the teachers are unbelievable. Someone else mentioned that teachers visit extracurricular activities and they do! The principal is strict about discipline but the children all respond well to her and rise to the challenge. The sports program is awesome and there are perks that are constantly cut from the public schools like library time technology labs and the Accelerated Reader program. The kids at the school aren't perfect but compared to their peers elsewhere they look pretty darn good! We highly recommend OLPH.

We are in our 4th year at OLPH school. We are very happy with the community. My son had attended another Catholic school prior- at OLPH he had an amazing experience with the first teacher that believed in him. He is now doing extremely well in high school. They just need the basics in morality and respect. That goes a long way. My daughter in elementary loves to read! Just recently wants to read-even when she doesn't have to!!! It's awesome!!! Teachers teach here for the love of the children. Highly recommend this school!

My child is in 2nd Grade at OLPH. Last year he attended the Boulder Oaks Elementary school in the Alpine Union district. His experience in the CA public school system was horrific!! The entire educational program is geared towards taking the STARS tests. He was becoming a test robot not a well rounded person involved in his community. Not only did he hate the whole learning experience but the bullying and foul language he experienced on the playground was intolerable. I sought out a refuge. A learning experience which emphasizes the development of the whole person not just learning geared to the answers on a test. We have truly found this at OLPH school. He absolutely loves going to school. All of the educators parents and children care about each other and the school. His reading and math grades have improved unbelievably. We LOVE OLPH!

I can't say enough good things about this school. I have two children enrolled - one in middle school and one in elementary. The teacher's at this school are exceptional and truly care about the kids as a whole. It is not uncommon to see a teacher at a child's soccer or baseball game on the weekend. The fact that they care about the child outside of the classroom and use their own private time to show that has created a very strong bond with the kids. I appreciate the fact that the kids are all held accountable for their actions and are required to be responsible citizens while still maintaining a warm caring environment. The test scores each year speak for themselves as they are consistently very high. These kids thrive in this environment. I can't imagine sending my children anywhere else.

I relocated to East County several years ago not knowing anything about San Diego County in general. I researched the entire East County side looking for a decent public school for my children only to be let down by the reviews and unbiased reports. Being a single mother at that time putting my children in a private school didn't even cross my mind or even an option until I found OLPH. Hearing position feedbacks from people within my community meeting OLPH families and seeing these parents wholeheartedly working with one another through volunteer work just to make their children's lives safe and secure were the deciding factors to attend this small close-knitted school. We now have been here for four years and I see how my children are happy at school. The entire faculty staff do care about the students - a real strong relationship!

Although we are not Catholic we cannot imagine sending our child to any other private school. OLPH teachers really care about the children and put their whole heart into educating the children. I am amazed at the community outreach that this school has. We feel this school should have 10 stars!!

My daughter is a Kindergartner OLPH and loves the school her friends teachers and staff as much as we do! Though this is only her first year as a student we have grown to love the environment and the teachings in the school. The kids are taught respect responsibility and a Christian way of life. As if that wasn't enough the school has a track record of producing students with standardized test scores that are far above average. We are impressed with what our daughter has already learned in Kindergarten as it compares closely to what a friend of hers is learning at a nearby public school in the first grade! If you are looking for a wonderful place for your children to attend school I would highly recommend you consider OLPH!

We love OLPH! It was a difficult decision to make to send our children there. We are a single-income family and it is a financial sacrifice to be able to afford the tuition but now that we've experienced OLPH I can't imagine sending our kids anywhere else! It really is one big family and the education is top-notch. The teachers and staff are wholly invested in the students and the children are proof of the staff's efforts.

We have been so pleased with OLPH. We have 3 children at this school and I can't say enough about the one on one attention they each get in their classrooms. The teachers are amazing! They really care about each individual student. The academics are strong with high standards and expectations. The environment fosters strong Christian values and beliefs. My children view the teachers and staff like extended family. I highly recommend OLPH.

OLPH is a wonderful school. It has inspired my kids to have a desire to learn. I have a 4th grader that loves to read. I am sure it has to do with the AR program. My boys love their teachers who wonderful in so many ways. Their friends are great kids too. I am lucky to see their friends after school and they are very polite and respectful!

After 14 years of attending OLPH school I can honestly say that it is the foundation that has made the difference in my childrens lives. I could find weaknesses; however my children are the results of an OLPH solid enviornment. OLPH school has been a Blessing in our life. There have been mements of question when there was failure on both sides to communicate openly. That was not just the teacher's fault but ours also. I would recommend the school to anyone that desires a down to earth good education solid Catholic foundation and a loving and safe enviornment.

I love the school ! Challenging academics state-of-the-art technology lab musical performances and art classes for all grades sports for grades 4-8 as well as pee-wee soccer starting in grade K. The teachers are caring and dedicated and are trained in differentiated instructional methods. Solid values-based foundation is what every child needs-especially in today's world ! It's five--stars in my opinion !

My daughter is in her 2nd year at OLPH. She loves it there. This school provides great opportunities for parents to get to know one another through daily morning assemblies and volunteer time. Also the teachers allow parents to visit the classrooms. The students are also rewarded for good deeds. The kindergarden soccer coach is very involved with the players. During the last practice he invited the parents to scrimmage the players. The school has no playground for the kids. During recess they play in the church parking lot. There are basketball hoops and dodge ball.

I was very disappointed. Elementary was fine but Jr. High was a big problem. Teacher turnover is rampid. No art or music programs to speak of. Communication with parents is horrible. Leadership is non-existent. No partnership with parents.

When you send your child to a private school in addition to buying them an education you are buying them an enviroment in which to grow up. This school offers not only a great education provided by caring teachers staff and envolved parents more importantly it provides an ideal enviroment for kids to grow up in. It's a school where older students care and nurture younger students through a buddy system - where kindergartners and 1st graders aren't afraid of 7 and 8th graders but rather call them my 7th grade friends. Anyone of any religious persuasion who does not consider OLPH as an alternative in Lakesidr is doing their children a dis-service.
