My daughter recently graduated from Merryhill. She had attended the school since first grade. Merryhill has everything a parent looks for in a school. The teachers are extremely caring and nuturing to their students. The Admin staff is absolutely amazing. The new principal is so much more than we expected. She is a very strong minded person and her policies are fair. She deeply cares about each and every student that attends. Her open door policy makes communication a breeze. She is a great asset to the school. I cannot find one negative area about Merryhill. Watch out for Miss Mary and Miss Hazel they are absolutely charming and dedicated women. They take their jobs to new levels with their devotion to the kids. They will sweep you and your children off their feet. I don't think Merryhill would be what it is without them. If you want a school that deeply cares about your child not only from an academic point but a caring one this is the school to attend. My daughter's grades were outstanding thanks to the teachers. I only wish the school went beyond 5th grade. We never would have gone anywhere else. Thank you Merryhill.

I have been really happy with this school. My son is in 1st grade and he has no more than 12 kids in his class. It was like that in Kindergarten as well. My son is very comfortable here. He's only in 1st grade but is friends with the older students as well. All the kids seem nice and polite. His teachers have been very caring and fostering. We just got a new principal and she seems to be making a lot of positive changes.

This school offers very average academics in a more sheltered environment. Some teachers come from public schools and their academic standard is not as high as some of the other privates schools in this area. If you are looking for superior academics this school is not for you. If you are looking for something comparable to public schools but with all the 'extras' like Art Spanish Computers and Music in a smaller class size this school maybe for you.

My daughter is in the pre-k program here. I looked at so many schools before choosing Merryhill and I'm so glad I chose this school. The classrooms are clean bright and airy. The teachers are all caring and involved. I particularly like the lower student/teach ratio in the beginner's program. My daughter comes home every day singing new songs reciting her alphabet numbers spanish words etc. And most importanly she loves going to school.

My son has been in the school since kindergarten and is now in second grade. His reading level speaking skills and writing ability have all grown immensely thanks to the wonderful teachers he has had. The small class sizes are wonderful and the campus is beautiful and safe. The art music technology and Spanish programs are also fabulous.

My son is in the pre-k class and his teachers are wonderful. The students are respectfull and the class is always orderly and clean. The level of work that is produced is consistantly of high level for the age of the students and the teachers costantly challenge my son to go further with his studies. While the tuition is high I believe that it is worth every penny due tot he level of instruction that my son is getting.

I do not recommend this school. Their testing averages are not that great for being a private school.

After reading the parent reviews for Merryhill I feel it is necessary to post a review from a parent whose children are doing quite well at this school. My second grade child who has been in the school since Kindergarten is flourishing...speaking Spanish quite fluently learning not only Art but how to recognize art not to mention the fact that he is doing third and fourth grade level work and is reading at a sixth grade level. He has never been bullied nor does he bully others he is respectful and does very well socially at the school. My daughter just graduated from the Pre-K program next door and is able to sit down and read herself a book (at age 5!). One note on the PTO there are at least 20 women involved in the PTO (I happen to be one of them) and they spend hours throughout the year to enrich their kids school year the PTO plans social events schedules field trips and does community service hardly a forum for running the school.

My son has attended this school since kindergarten and will begin second grade in the fall. My experience has been wonderful since day one from the caring teachers to the supportive administration. I made a point to be involved by volunteering and assisting his teachers whenever asked. His classroom environment has always been nurturing with an emphasis on maintaining a proper level of discipline so as not to interfere witb the students' education. I have not been a member of the PTO but did help them with fundraisers and fun events for the kids. They were some of the hardest working women I know who selflessly gave of their time where a lot of parents did nothing to contribute. I love the school as well as the staff. My son has grown leaps and bounds intellectually and emotionally and is very happy to go to school every day!

We have two children who are at Merryhill and we are extremely pleased with the overall well rounded education they have received. Merryhill is a family environment. Our children have founded strong relationships with other children and the staff that will last. The specialist teachers are phenomonal. The individual grade teachers have provided a strong balance between academics and citizenship for our daugters. Merryhill Elementary is evolving in many ways. Since the administration change every aspect of the school is being examined and evaluated. As parents we know that it takes time to adjust all of the aspects of a school and we support that.

Having paid my excessive annual school fees in advance my quiet daughters were verbally and phyiscally bullied at this school. This is not private education it is FULLTIME day care for children that other selective private schools would not tolerate. Thank God my kids are moving to another selective private school. The school is only interested in figures not Math but profit margins. The management is (in my opinion) lead by the PTO whom are only out for themselves. The majority of the teaching carried out by recently qualified teachers involves handing out 'worksheets/workbooks'. Extracurricular activities are just that extra cost. We had a lot of parent involvment trying to sort out the bullying problem but the staff/managment were unable/willing to help. In summary if you work all day want expensive daycare and your child to be bullied or be a bully this school is for you.

The teachers are terrific. The administration has been terrible. The new principal and staff are rude unhelpful and militaristic.

It seems for approximately $1000 per month the school could not afford itself. There are many times there would be no soap or paper in the bathrooms. The school was more concerned about collecting their money than concerned about the children. The teacher just out of school did not have the qualities you would look to have in a teacher. The principal always looked disheveled. He acted very unprofessional with his decisions. In Kindergarten my daughter was taught about tattooing her body. Sheets with point spreads for the Final Four were sent home with the children. In the state of Nevada this is a violation of the Gaming Control Board. This is considered gambling. The Principle claims not to know anything about the tattooing. Concerning the Point Spreads the Principle said was to teach K-6 math skills. Is this what we should be teaching our children?

My children have attended Merryhill at Snowtrail for 3 yrs now. They are moving on to a more peaceful non aggressive community. There is a definete lack of professionalism and overall compassion for their students. They are more driven by the collection of tuition than anything else. This is a very unusual private school curriculum. They charge an excessive amount for your child to sit in class and do worksheets. They charge you for P.E. and many other things that should be included in the high tuition- especially the kids lunch. If you are seeking a strong academic enrichment program that demonstates fairness and equality do not choose this school.
