My son attends 4th grade at this school. He was having difficulties in the prior three schools he was in. We moved to this town for my job and were hesitant when we read these reviews but had not other options as the town provides little to choose from its kind of inner city but my son was placed in Ms. Phillips class and excells she provides energy and patience with the children and seems to have a passion for teaching. I would recommend her she has turned our son around!!!! Thank you ms. Phllips

My daughter started kindergarten in 2012 and it took about a week and my husband and I started to notice problems with her behavior that we never had before. She started throwing things trying to tell us what to do and just bad behavior in general. Then some of the students started picking on my child. It got to the point to where my child came home with a welt on her back from another student punching her in the lower part on her back on her spine. She told the teacher and the teacher told her just to stay away from them. How was she suppose to stay away from them these children were in her class. Then one of these students a boy went a punched my daughter in the face for telling on him. Their solution was to just put her in a different class yet she would still see these children at lunch and they continued hurting at lunch. They just wanted to sweep everything under the rug. I have spoken to other parents and I am not the only one that has the same problem with their childs behavior at home since they started kindergarten and they are all in different kindergarten classes so you tell me is it our children or the schools lack of attention?

The staff works hard to help each student excel. This area has multiple challenges i.e. uninvolved complaining or absent parents but they rise to the challenge every day.

i spoke to one of my kids teacher that why u do not give home work to kids she said that it is waist of paper and they do not do the home work any way so that was a good excuse to sit in the class and when time is over so u can go home truth of the matter is this the teacher has to do home work before they prepare for kids so they r lazy and do not do their job rightand when kids come home they have nothing to do so they go on computer or watch tv or go on the street i hope some one take notice of this matter and do something about it . thanks

Leesburg Elementary School is one of the best. Excellent not perfect. You can be proactive and help educate your child or you can be a complainer and drag them down.

I am a parent of children that attend Leesburg Elm. I think this school is one of the worst schools that I have ever had my children attend 'To Be Frank' I have had nothing but problems with the front office and Teachers per say and my children have done nothing but struggle since we moved into this area. I can not speak for all parent swho have children that attend this school but I can speak on my exp... and on my childrens and this is a school I would honestly not give a five star too nor a one. And with the parents I have spoken too that do have thier own children that attend are on the same page as I myself is with this school. So if in my own exp... If your looking for a Great school Leeburg Elm. is not one.

My son attends kidergarden at Leesburg Elem. He has a wonderful teacher who is very patient and caring. Although I think that thier should be more organization with in the school. Parents who are putting thier child in school for the first time are not familiar with how things work. I believe the school and it's staff need to pay more attention to that. Thank you Proud Parent

We have a wonderful responce from our parents at the many events our school hosts. It would be helpful to have more parent input as to what things we can do to make our school more invitationaal to our. Our school is open to visits form the community and our parents and are always looking for their new ideas and suggestions

My son attends Kindergarten at Leesburg Elementary and we both l just love his teacher Mrs. McCullough. I have also found the rest of the staff as well as the administration to be sincerely passionate about ensuring the success of every child. I am truly thankful that Leesburg Elementary is the first step of my son's educational path.

Teachers are great! I don't even have to review her math homework because my daughter learns everything in class. All we need to study is spelling words and vocabulary words. She is now a straight A student.

My son started kindergarden when the school first opened. We think it is a great school. My daughter will be starting kindergarden next year and is very excited.

As a parent I love the how much they encourage the parents to be involved. My 3rd grader did very well on the fcat this year and her teacher Mrs. Lafond was great. I sat in the back of the class when they were going over some of the practice skills and would encourage all parents too ask your child's teacher if you can do the same. I learned how to help my child prepare by watching Mrs. Lafond.

The teachers are fabulous most are very dedicated to helping the students. School is beautiful but very large for an elementary school. Building is maxed out. Good extracurricular activities with very motivated teachers. Parental involvement varies but not as high as it should be for a school of this size. They do a great job overall but there is so much pressure due to the FCAT that all else is insignificant.
