Leonia schools have been falling in rank for the past few years. Your child will fall behind if you don't follow up. The amount of students are increasing due to the increase of students coming from Edgewater and classes get filled up quickly and as a result your child may end up in a lesser level of courses. I don't really care for the current Administration. Once Mr. Josefesberg left it has been down hill. I am not happy about the Middle School current Administration. They are there to collect salaries and unfortunately our children pay the price. I am seriously considering moving out of Leonia after 20 years of residency. Leonia schools are not what they used to be.

I like the school and all and it's not bad but the way the school's system is organized is a complete mess. I already miss my old school and if you think about moving here don't. The school is like a Jenga crossword jigsaw Rubix labyrinth word search 3-D puzzle inter-dimensional Hogwarts Half-Blood Camp Hunger Games in Narnia with a map that is reversed in all directions. The only way you can find your way around here is asking someone or having previous experience. There are many rough (sometimes violent) occasions in the hallways and sometimes the fight eventually bumps into you. The only reason I came here was to see how New Jersey was like and so far my mind tells me to move next year. So if you want to go to this school ignore most of the good reviews and stick to the criticisms.
This is an excellent school that helps students strive to do their best in all subjects and also emotionally physically and spiritually. As a past student I highly recommend this school as well as its teachers and staff. I now attend Bergen Academies a top magnet high school in the country.
I am very pleased to see the proactive measures taken by the administration in regards to past discipline issues. I can frankly say that I am thrilled with the level of education and rigor at the school.
this school is very good. All they need to do is work on the teacher quality a little bit
Although the portfolio classes are quite good the regular classes are boring and some of the teachers act as though they don't like teaching. The pricipal treats the children like prisoners.
As a whole I feel it is a good school with some wonderful teachers that truly inspire and love teaching. This year the principal has changed and there have been some new rules that have been implemented.
I consider LMS has a good curriculum for students and also provide a safe environment for students. I do not have major complaints
Kids generally come from the Leonia public elementary school and are not prepared well for the Middle School environment. Academics are up to grade level with nothing special compared to ACS. Discipline at the school is lacking and creates a hard environment for the kids to learn. My child did not find enough extra curricular activities other than sports.
this is a beautiful school building. The principal is as nice as can be and they seem to be doing great work in the classrooms.
LMS has done wonders for my child. The teachers guidance dept and case workers in the school have turned a failing student into a student that now brings home A's and B's. They really do care!
