Being a former teacher at Mellon & now working out-of-state I can say that Mellon is an outstanding elementary school. It definitely starts at the top with the principal Mrs. Ravis. She is phenomenal at her job of leading the school and in my opinion is a tremendous resource for all teachers. I have the utmost respect for her as balancing a staff is not an easy feat. Also the teachers were always friendly easily approachable and had great ideas for promoting student learning. Lastly looking back the teaching staff should feel lucky to have an administrative staff that cares so much about the teachers' professional development. This was appreciated during my employment but is even appreciated more as my current district does not consistently or thoroughly promote district professional development. Keep up the good work Mellon!
