California Standards Test (CST)

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

Twelve Bridges Elementary is a wonderful community school. This school encompasses the whole child -- and teaches kids what it means to be a good student caring individual and all around well rounded child. The principal Mr. Cubias is phenomenal. He truly cares about each student and has done great things with the school in his short time there. I have two GATE qualifying kids and have opted to keep them at their home school. Seems like the bandwagon is to go the Charter School route as if the education is better there. My kids have had a great education at 12Bridges and I only see the school getting better. I am a proud TBES parent.

Twelve Bridges Elementary is a fantastic school. My son excels in class and enjoys going to school everyday. The teachers and staff are wonderful. Our principal is amazing. He has three kids that go to the school as well so he is extremely dedicated to making this school successful.

TBES is a wonderful school! We have been very happy with the academic environment as well as the warm community feel. Great parents enthusiastic teachers and a well run school.

Wonderful school great learning environment & very impressed with principal & staff. Highly involved parents & surrounding community. Very thankful my daughter attends TBE!

NWhat this school does have is great families and a great social structure and wonderful parent-led classes/clubs or activities after school. What they are lacking is - as are all public schools - is anything but an average curriculum. Sadly the teachers are forced to teach to the lowest performers leaving kids who excel with not much to do for any type of challenge. And not all of the teachers here are spectacular and the principal isn't the strongest leader. The science teacher is amazing however! I miss the families the most.

I have a daughter that has gone to TBE from 2nd and not in 5th and a son K and now in 2nd. For the most part we have been pleasantly surprised with the teachers and their involvement. Principle and VP are amazing and the ex. activities are wonderfule. Great involvement and support. We have to move and I wish I could bring TBE with me!

We are getting ready to start our second year at TBE and we had a great experience last year. We have two boys enrolled and they both completed the year in excellent fashion due in no small part to the wonderful teachers they had. We enjoyed every aspect of the school and hope to become even more involved this year.

Two of my children attend Twelve Bridges Elementary School. This is the start of our fourth year at the school and we have had excellent teachers each year so far. My kids have responded well the the curriculum used and were both reading by the end of Kindergarten. The principal is very involved and approachable. He is energetic and always looking for new ways to get the kids excited about learning. This year (2007) the school has started offering after school clubs including crafts spelling and fitness. The school is less than four years old and our family is impressed with the energy here!

My duaghter is in kindergarten and I am so glad that she went to an outstanding pre school. The teachers seem so overwhelmed. She comes home with errors in her writing and they are never corrected. Her excitement for school is quickly going away.

Twelve Bridges has terrific teachers but is lacking extra curricular activities and enrichment programs. Hopefully that will come in time as it is still new. We need after school language science and arts programs. There is lots of parent involvement and the school facilities are great. The principal needs to allow the parents to have more fundraisers to raise the money needed for these enrichment programs. The school should utilize the Sun City volunteers more for special studies like art language science history spelling bees GATE programs and other extra curricular programs that can be done after school free to the children. I think this school can be one of the best in the area if it expands its horizons.

We are pleased with the quality teachers as well as the very active principal our children have experienced at Twelve Bridges Elementary. We moved from one of the top ranked schools and are pleased to see the exceptional teaching skills offered here!

My daughter just finished second grade at TBE and had an exceptional teacher! Although the school has a lot of students as the area is growing quickly my daughter's teacher went above and beyond in providing a nurturing and academic environment where each child could grow and succeed. I would like to see more things available for advanced students but overall we really like the school.

Kindergarten classes have over 30 kids. My child's teacher seems overwhelmed. We are not getting all the handouts we should. The school we moved from has afterschool language and science classes.

We are very happy with TBE. The teachers are very dedicated as is the principal. The students receive excellent music and science instruction too! The only complaint is the Kindergarten class size is too high!

This is our first year at 12B. I like the school's academics. There could be more parental involvement but this is probably typical for a new school that is still evolving and setting its tone. Teachers and administration are excellent and feel that have dealt with the extreme growth in the school admirably.

We just moved here prior to the 2005-2006 school year and could'nt be happier with our choice. We moved from the Bay Area from a school with high test scores but are pleased with the teachers the parents and core curriculum offered. New enrichment programs will be added on with growth! Mr. Lyche our principal is the greatest too...very approachable to the children and parents!
