My wife and I have lived in the community for almost 30 years. We have two children attend Chisago Lakes School District from Kindergarten through their senior year. We have found the administration to be very accommodating the teachers outstanding and the programs and expectations exemplary. We were given the opportunity to have input in our children s elementary teacher selections. The high school courses are comprehensive and rigorous- just a great selection of core and elective opportunities. I feel my children received a high quality education and were very prepared for their colleges.

I have two children that are currently attending this school and have receieved a majority of their education in this school district. One of my children receives accommodations for a disablity and I have no problem with any of the staff. I feel like the staff is very supportive of both my children.I have had great experiences in respect to communication and support. I currently work in an inner city school as an educator and find the education and opportunities my children receive here far exceeds the opportunities that students are offered in other distircts. I love their school for the same reasons that other parents have noted. They have excellent class choices for students preparing for college. I am very proud of the school that my children attend!

I would agree that if your child has learning struggles don't send your child here. I would disagree with the other reviewers never felt the school wanted parent involvement in fact I felt they discouraged parents involvement. If your a parent that wants to be part of the process don't expect them to welcome you. I also got the idea the school had a negative vibe seems to run through the faculty. Go to the Baptist school or Forest Lake.

Seven of my children have attended or are still attending school in this district since 1991. If you are moving north from the metro area-be forwarned that this school is growing by leaps and bounds! Even with expansion in this school over the last ten years the district is feeling the overcrowding. As in every school there are great long-term teachers. Many of our high school teachers are just out of college-that seems to be a good thing for the most part. If your child has learning struggles this is not the district to move into. Forest Lake has a Great ALC program. Good luck in your decision making process. The extra cirricular activities are extensive for both boys and girls. The community education department is excellent for all ages-costs are quite reasonable. There is a pool.

The Chisago Lakes High School is a wonderful place to be. This mid-size high school offers a wide variety of academic and extra curricular opportunities. The staff is knowledgeable supportive and forward-thinking. Parents are informed and involved. The size of this District allows all children to be involved!

I would like to take a moment to commend the Principal and staff at Chisago Lakes High School for the excellent job they do. To many people only comment when they have something negative to say and I think we should give praise when it is due. I have had three children attend this school one was a challange that the teachers dealt with as best as anyone could expect. The other two have enjoyed all the great things the school has to offer. They have such school spirit and pride in where they go. The classes are taught well and even though it is not a real small school you still have the feeling of community. Parents are always welcome and communication to the parents is very open. I am proud my kids attend this school!
