Marbut is a good school overall. My daughter has attended for two years now and I can see where she is learning and growing. The teachers are very involved and so are some of the parents I have encountered. Parental involvement is key to having a great school.

We have a Kindergarten soon to be First Grader. Our experience has been a wonderful pleasure. Mabut has challenge my Daughter being expected measures. The school has offered Monthly projects Daily homework. I do believe it has prepared her for First Grade. It has made me to work hard to have better Time Management skills that is what you will need to make it here at Marbut Theme School. You have to stay and be an involed Parent to make it work as well. The Staff is friendly. We have truly enjoyed our first year here and hope for many more rewarding challenging. Thanks to all the K-Staff.

Marbut is an excellent school. My son attended from k - 5 grade. He was challenged and taught to think for himself. Yes there are a lot of projects but I did not do them my son did. That is the way it should be. The principal had high standards for her staff student and parents. It really shows later on when your child is out of the school. My youngest will be attending fall 2013. Go Mountain lions!!! The school could use a bigger parking lot and work on letting the kids have a little more free time during the day to converse with their peers especially at lunch. All work and no play makes for unhappy kids at times. Otherwise it is great!!!

I have a Very Strong Positive Level of Comfort with Marbuit Elementary School. I have met the past and current Principle and have volunteered as required in my granddaughter's classrooms. I have participated heavily in her homework projects and most activities... I lIke What I See!! Of course I could easily spend time in all areas of the school-you can volunteer in any department including the Parent Center. BUT I haven't rreached that point yet... The student development/activities are endless and communicated very well on the calendar..now virtual. There are endless ways I see the Expectation and Standards being filtered into the students and parents. You have to Execute to Learn and to Excel. I trust that at this level in my 1st grader's life She Is in A Great School learning expliring enjoying and developing. key skills and excellent traits of confidence and achievement for her future! THANKS MARBUIT!!

This school has excellent follow up and great guidelines for developing my child. We have been a part of Marbut Elementary for about 1 year and the principal is hands on. As a parent I have grown from educated my child on the projects they assign him in class. Thank you!

My child has been at Marbut for three years and I am totally happy with the school and the leadership. You and your child must be willing to do the work to enjoy all that the school has to offer. Parents must volunteer. I have read a couple of negative reviews and it seems as if those are parents that are use to just dropping their child off to school and picking them up. They do not want to assist in the homework or projects. Speaking as a parent those are the ones that you want to leave the school. Those are the children thqt slow down the classes and the parents that do not show up for meetings. They eventually pull the school down. At Marbut parents have to participate in order for their child to succeed. It is a great school.

Marbut is great school it is however not easy. Not on the kids or the parents who have to do mandatory volunteer hours The staff cares the class and homework work is challenging but in the end the kids grow and perform well. I can tell how well my child is tought at Marbut when she is around other children of the same age who go to schools that are not as challenging. She shines just a little more. Not all parents can deal with the requirements but if everybody could do it then it wouldn't be special.

All for show - keeping up images tactless and unprofessional principal and some staff

Marbut is a great school considering it is located in the heart of Dekalb County which is a not so great school system. My child attended Marbut from 2nd-5th grade and it was the best thing I could have ever done for my son. He was challenged on a daily basis. I was challenged as well. The leadership from the principal definitely filters down to the staff. The entire staff genuinely cares for the children and are determined to have their students succeed.

I hate the fact that some teachers do not give age-appropriate assignments. I would like to see one of those teachers successfully fly a rocket ship to the moon solo with out the appropriate training and qualifications beforehand! School should be fun not a headache for parents! Children should feel good about their OWN achievements in school over the years not the fact that their parents had to do most of the work for their projects and some assignments.

I LOVE Marbut! If you are not willing to volunteer or are unable to this is not the school for you. If you arent willing to work with your child every night on homework this is not the school for you. I have seen it time and time again where in a regular school they give the child MINIMAL homework and NOTHING is enforced. Here you MUST do your volunteer time projects MPU and homework. Ms. Zeigler is GREAT! The only cons; the parking lot is way too small. And I think Marbut should consider having an entrance exam. If your child is lazy please keep them where they are. They will only be taking up room for a child that is truly willing to work and make the extra effort to comply with the STANDARDS that Marbut tries to live up to!

Coming from the middle georgia (Warner Robins Ga ) school district having my child attend public school in DeKalb County was totally scary. Overcrowded class and I heard that the bullying was over the top in the school system. We tried Marbut and I liked the parental involvement concept. The school was a perfect fit for my son. Marbut is not for everyone or every child. I urge parents to chose schools that add positively to who your child is scholastically and personally. I would strongly urge you to chose another school if you lack time management skills and if your child has difficulty learning. It is fast paced and challenging. I always say 'Set your child up for success not failure!'

Marbut Elementary is an excellent. My daughter started in Kindergarten in 2008 and she had done very well. The teachers are excellent and also the principal who is a no nonsense person which I love. Principal and teachers shows so much interest in the children it it truly amazing. Thanks very much Marbut Faculity and Staff.

Both of my daughters had the Marbut experience. The school has created a positive self drive in them. They are confident in the things they do but humble enough to respect the beliefs and thoughts of others. Marbut keep producing 'The Leaders of Tommorrow'.

My son started this school in the 3rd grade and now he is in the 4th. He did not want to leave his old school (which rated a 1 ) Marbut pushes him to be a better student and that is what he needed. The push from home and school. The parental involvment is fair and the projects they do just gets them prepared for their next level in education.

This school is okay it's not as good as i thought it would be. Both of my kids have attended this school which of one of them is still there. This school is more focused on test score than the kids actually learning the material. It's like they have this standard with keeping up the test scores that they really don't care if the kids actually learn the material or not...from grade to grade I have actually had to be the one who teaches my child pretty much everything that he knows. This school does not stand behind what they are suppose to uphold as a theme school........I would caution anyone who wants their child to attend this school.

I love Marbut! The parents are great and so are their children. Teachers really do care! It's more than homework projects poems or uniforms.... we strive for the same goal for your children.... for them to succeed! We all want whats best for our children and prepare them for the bright future they have ahead of them. Instead of being frustrated at the amount of work... think about how this is a great experience to work with your child and teach them skills that could remain with them for a lifetime!

This is my daughter's second year Marbut. I love the fact that parent must be involved with their children's education.

Marbut Theme is the Premier dekalb school. I attended marbut form 1999 until 2005. People complain abot how much work we get and hard it is.Marbut strives for excellence and always has. Marbut stimulates your mind. I remeber in 3rd grade i was reading on a high school level. I commend Miss Zeigler for her excellent leadership throughout my years. My little sister s attends MArbut now in the 3rd grade reading on a 7th grade level doing 6th grade math. Its not becuase she is 'gifted' it is because Marbut parents teachers and staff push herr to achive excellence. I am in 7th grade and i attend Champion Middle School. I read on a 14. 6 reading level which is a College Sophmore in the 6th year of school. I do 10th grade algebra and 10th grade life science and is Marbut that got me here. Aaliyah Copeland
